We've already had threads on favorite gym leaders multiple times before, and I think something a little different to think about can be fun.

How would you rank each region based on their overall gym leader designs?

9th - Gen 7

Purely from a design point of view.

1. Hoenn
2. Galar
3. Paldea
4. Unova
5. Johto
6. Kalos
7. Kanto
8. Sinnoh
9. Alola (assuming only Grand Trials, but not doing tons better with Trial Captains)

Judged mostly on the (positive) standouts. Describes most of the thought process as "whatever whatever whatever pretty good whatever whatever".

1) Hoenn

Good: Roxanne, Wattson, Flannery, Tate & Liza,
Don't care either way/meh: Brawly, Norman, Winona
Bad: Wallace, Juan

Like: 44.4%
Meh: 33.4%
Dislike: 22.2%

2) Galar

Good: Milo, Nessa, Bea, Melony,
Don't care either way/meh: Allister, Opal, Gordie, Piers
Bad: Kabu, Raihan

Like: 40%
Meh: 40%
Dislike: 20%

3) Sinnoh. Same like % s Kalos, but Sinnoh has a higher 'meh' % and a lower dislike %, so I broke the tie based on that.

Good: Roark, Gardenia, Fantina
Don't care either way/meh: Maylene, Byron, Candice, Volkner
Bad: Crasher Wake

Like: 37.5%
Meh: 50%
Dislike: 12.5%

4) Kalos

Good: Viola, Valerie, Olympia
Don't care either way/meh: Grant, Korrina, Wulfric
Bad: Ramos, Clemont
