Hive you ever been scammed/contacted by a scammer before?

Personally, I get scammers on soundcloud pretending they'll sign record deals for me (sometimes for unfinished songs and even things that aren't even music) for a large amount of money. (ofc I never pay them so they go away)

I came extremely close to it the other week, my internet had been messing up big time for a while and these people who claimed to be from my broadband company called me. I actually followed everything they said until they asked me to download TeamViewer...nope...

Does Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes count as a scam?

Some people in Indonesia managed to get a hold of my debit card details and spent like £1,200 on it. I ended up getting my money back obviously, but it just goes to show how careful you need to be when saving personal details with some online companies I guess.

If the Walmart rewards mastercard counts then yes, we've been thoroughly scammed.

    Really, do not get it.

I'd actually like to hear more about this experience, if you're willing to share! I've always been kinda sketchy about the whole Walmart credit card thing, tbh.

I'm glad you have been! The interest rate is insane! And it seems like we pay on it but it doesn't go down, the fuck they're doing with the money?
And the rewards you get isn't much either so it's like :/

Yeah man. I was late getting into the Pokemon TCG back in primary school but eventually my dad got me a booster pack. And I pulled the holographic Magneton from base set.

I can't remember the last time I actually fell victim to a known scam, but I almost got roped by a friend of mine that I graduated high school with into the multi-level-marketing scheme of selling MonaVie, a acai-based juice purported to have health benefits (hint, hint: it actually had none).

Around July 2009, I was invited to a "business meeting" by my aforementioned friend in a community quite aways from home, and when I showed up to the event, she kind of talked me out of it (surprisingly), but gave me some information about MonaVie and how the marketing structure worked (the "compensation plan", which I could NOT figure out at all, even though I'm generally intelligent enough to figure out a lot of other things. Should have been a major red flag). She then instead invited me to a demonstration of the juice at a location closer to home. When I got there on the scheduled time, the place was closed, so I went straight home (I actually had to work later in the day, so it was probably a good thing I didn't see anybody there at that time), and emailed her about this issue, so she then decided to have it at my house. (!)

On the day the home demonstration was to take place, my mom warned that she was not going to be buying anything. When the demonstration started, my friend brought another woman who she claimed was her 'mentor' (which really ticked both my mom and I off).
After the two left, my mom lectured me about not falling for sales schemes including those that my friends may be involved in. I ended up having to write a email to my friend scolding her for what she did.

I remained friends with her for only a little while longer, then she got married and moved away, and I eventually deleted my MySpace and Facebook accounts (I had her on my friends list on both platforms), so it was probably for the best that I phased out all communication with her (considering I actually had a crush on her towards the end of high school and the period of time afterwards including when the incidents discussed in this post occurred).

Actually just last night someone got into my iCloud and remotely locked my phone, telling me I would have to pay money to get my phone back. :< I had to completely erase my phone, and then my backups didn't work, so I had to restore it to default. D: Worst thing is, I would have been able to get into my phone no problem had I set a passcode, but since I had never done so I was locked out. It's irritating that someone can remotely set a code and lock a phone, but not change the code or unlock it. :/ Also, why the hell does apple not have 24/7 support???
