i wouldnt mind being a fire elite ^^ and the small tourny sounds fun will we have to use our gym teams or what?

Gym Teams might not be the best idea because some Team will just have superior advantages over others. What about UU/NU battles?

The idea is that the tourney is for peoplewho don't already have a position, not for the gym leaders.

Well couldn't gym leaders who want to get to the elite 4 (definetely not me) get in the tourney, and if one does win, then maybe the top 4 of the tourney could individually try out for the leader's position in either a mini tourney or a who-battles-the-best kind of way (Like if Greene wins-How many pokemon did I have to use, health etc., Greene loses [rare:)] how many pokemon did they have left, health etc.)? Kinda like a battle royal consolation prize sort of thing. Of course I can still see the downside of this plan, but...
