    shadow6600 here! Love pokemon, not too good at battling, and absolutely suck at ev/iv training. Haven't read the manga or seen the anime because it's one of those "commitment" manga/anime because of their length. I'm looking into game development and trying to learn all I can to make a pokemon game. It's really nice to have a whole community for this.

    Hey there, shadow! Welcome to PokeCommunity; it's wonderful to have you here! :]

    So, you're into game development? It's your lucky day, then - we have a wonderful, highly advanced Game Development section with piles of members that I'm sure would help you learn how to do what you have your eyes set on achieving! Just hop on over there and get started! :> I'm sure you'll find your niche sooner or later - just work at it for a little while and you'll achieve it in no time!

    As for EV/IV training, you might be able to get some help in the In-Game Team Help forum depending on what you know/want to learn. Of course, you might have to present some of your own Pokemon/partial teams before you're able to get accurate advice! I could also help you, if you want - my profile is open for any questions you have. I'll help you to the absolute best of my abilities!

    Anyway, I could never make a huge commitment to the manga either. There are way too many sagas and their all way too long. It's a chore reading so much, especially for something that's not canon to anything and whose characters that are known so well from the anime/games are written much differently. I mean, seriously - characters die in the manga. That's crazy to me. @_@; The anime is fun, though - I'd give it a try if I were you!

    Once again, welcome to PC - please leave me a VM if you want to talk or need help with anything. Anything to make your stay that much more enjoyable.

    Welcome to PC, shadow! Nice to see a game developer join the community! You know, we have a section juuuust for that, where you can download the latest Pokemon Essentials, and recieve the latest help from knowledgeable members! Game developers there are very helpful, so you are never confused. :3

    We also have sections for Anime and Manga too, so you better check those out too! Especially the anime section. :D

    Well, be sure you read dem rules, and contact a staff member if you need any help! See ya!

    Hello Shadow, and welcome to PC!

    So, someone interested in Game Development? Well, we have a section for just that! It's in this link: *click me!*. You'll find a handy Pokemon Essentials guide there, as well as get assistance from other regulars of the section. Also, its friendly moderator Cilerba will be happy to answer any questions you have relating to Game Development.

    We also have Pokemon Manga/Comics, Pokemon Anime and Japanese Entertainment for all stuff anime and manga-related. The first two are for Pokemon-based manga and anime, while the latter covers all non-Pokemon anime and manga. They have been a bit dead lately so your activity could help give those sections more love.

    Also, make sure you read the forum-wide rules and contact any moderators if you have issues. If you ever need to ask me a question, or just chat, feel free to send a VM to me, Hikari!

    Thanks for replying, guys! There are alot of things to do here, and I hope i'll actually get a pokemon hack or game going.

    Hey Shadow, welcome to PC! I'm Cirno, one of the many people on the forum, and it's nice to meet you. :D

    I tend to prefer longer-running anime/mangas since that gives me a bigger opportunity to get attached to characters, but I can see how they'd be tedious too. I watched all of Pokemon Best Wishes/Black & White for a while but then it got hard to keep up so I've fallen out of it this last half year or so. The manga's more dark though and has a better plot (from what I've been told) so I'd recommend trying it too... but that might be my personal bias. xD;

    Game Development and Emulation are both highly popular sections of the site so it's great that you're interested in one of these things, since you probably won't find a better community out there for fanmade Pokemon games! I've done a lot of browsing around Game Dev when I first found out about the site in 2006 and it's really impressive how many talented members there are here. Definitely inspires you to make your own game, doesn't it? I imagine it's relatively difficult to get off your feet when it comes to learning, but with enough dedication you'll get there in no time. There are a lot of tools for you to use over at Game Dev if you need 'em too, so use them to your advantage!

    Hopefully you've already been exploring around here though, and make sure to stick around and be active! It's worth it - we're all very friendly here. Give the rules a read if you haven't yet and most importantly, have fun~

    Welcome to PC, Shadow! Your name reminds me of two characters, Shadow the Hedgehog, and Shadow from Final Fantasy VI. |D Anyway this place will hopefully help you get better at those stuff! EV/IV training is pretty tasking, I really don't like doing it in-game so I just resort to battle simulators, haha. We do have EV/IV training guides lying around here somewhere, ah here it is (it's for Black and White though so idk if it applies or is up-to-date enough). You ought to check that out as well as the compilations of resources where that came from (plus Battle Center itself!) for more in-game team building related help. <3 Also you mentioned the manga; I have to say that you should try it out if ever you change your mind, because the plot and serious tone that it has, compared to the rest of the franchise-- really fulfilling. Plus don't be intimidated by the anime's length! The anime's still watchable even if you get into it randomly, because it's really light plot-wise and continuity-wise. ;D Just don't watch the latter parts of a two-parter or three-parter episode, lmao.

    Everyone has been very helpful with links to the Emulation and Game Dev sections though! I hope you do get a hack going eventually. :) Also you should get into all the stuff that you wanted to do here at PC as soon as possible! Get that activity going. It's more fun that way. But yeah, it was nice meeting and greeting you, Shadow! :D
