Here's my identical twin! I bought her/him yesterday.

There's a new invention which will create an identical twin of yourself. Your twin will love you always and will never get bored of you, they will not develop in the exact same way as you so they will be able to have some form of independent choice and personality rather than acting like a total clone. However their basic reactions, ways of thinking, ideas etc. will be remarkably similar to your own. Your twin will function in the exact same way as any other human except they will share a great many qualities with you. You can also alter your twin's appearance in some aspects so that people don't get the two of you mixed up. There is no chance of your twin turning evil.

Would you use this machine? Why, or why not?

eewww no way, I'm much too ugly for that and no amount of altercations can fix my looks. ):

sounds like something a basement dweller from /r9k/ would enjoy, though.

I don't think I'd use it. For one thing, I'm not so sure I could live with myself and I certainly don't think my family could handle two of me. And.. I don't know, I just don't fancy the idea of constantly being around someone with the same reactions, ways of thinking, and ideas as me. My own siblings and friends are already somewhat like this, and for some reason just the thought of another me, with all of these things in common, turns me off.

I wouldn't use that machine because it's very annoying trying to deal with another copy of myself most of the time. I also wouldn't like the thought of someone clinging to me all the time.

If I did, I couldn't say I'm unique... At least parts of uniqueness...

I've got my friends, I don't need some robotic companion who is too similar to me it's just weird...

Emm, would it be my creepily perky, talking-to-myself personality?

Or my pessimistic, introverted hateful side?

    Because that's sorta important.

I'd use it, I guess. I'd probably make it weaker, so I can control my own violent side.

    Or something.

Why would I use it? I've found it factual that no matter what you have an identical twin somewhere on this planet. And even if I never met mine, just knowing there's someone who looks exactly or almost exactly like me is enough.

No. I would never use a machine like that. I like being the only me, on Earth. Besides, I'm annoying enough, we don't need another one now, do we? ;D

I think it'd get a bit boring, even if certain things were a bit different. D: Besides the fact that one of me is more than enough for this world, I don't think I'd bother because I just don't see myself staying attentive to someone so like me. It'd just be... boring, I guess.

:( Though I'd probably use it anyway, just out of sheer curiosity.

The world wouldn't be able to handle the awesomeness of two of myself

I probably wouldn't; I annoy myself enough as is, lol. It would be like Red Dwarf; Arnold Rimmer V Arnold Rimmer and they'd both hate each other's guts.

That's a harder one. You'd find out your flaws, and be able to fix them, but it could lead ot problems, plus, I wouldn't get along with myself, as I'm stubborn xD
I guess no, though. Rather be happy, with flaws, than fix your flaws, but be unhappy... Did that make sense? xP

I would not use this machine.
I'm one of a kind, I don't need another one of me running around.

I would totally use it. Hear me out:

I'm really smart. I could use my clone to get my homework done twice as fast.

I could be in two places at once.

And, I would always have someone who wants to play video games with me.

Sounds like a pretty sweet deal. ;D

Is there anybody on here who actually IS a twin? xDD

But naaah, I wouldn't use this machine. Having two mes running around would just be...odd. I've wondered what it would be like to have a twin brother though; cause a guy version of me would be less odd than having an almost exact replica of me.

I don't have any use for such a machine; I already talk to myself anyway.
