Plenty of time. Mostly to my parents, which I showed my interest in anime, manga and most importantly zoology, but they turned me down with all of those things. With anime and manga, they said it was childish. And for zoology they said it's a hobby, not a career, unless you didn't go to high school or college. That's pretty stupid if you ask me.
...When my brother see's my on PC his enthusiasm is minimal. Pretty much anything I do is looked upon negatively. Yet he is drawn to watching that delinquent 'Angry Boys' show, which I find shallow and repetitive.
Yes. My friends think anything that's not in English is dumb. They think me watching shows with subs is dumb along with listening to foreign music. uggh
Most of my friends aren't big into cinema, which I sort of am. They don't mock me or anything, but they've made it clear that they have no interest whenever I go off to see old films being reissued or foreign ones. I make it clear I have no interest in their tastes, when they all go off to see Transformers 920332.5 so it works both ways!
It's doesn't have often since I'm not the kind of person to share something I found interesting with the whole work, but on occasion I do find a gif online and share it with some of my friends, and their responses are usually, "lol."
(ZOMG 666th post. D:!)
I don't show people new things for the sake of embarrassment. The last time I tried to do something like that was with my 3 year old step-ne.... uh i mean half-sister. I tried to make her watch a children's tv programme and found it very boring. She's more into phones.
Have you ever showed someone your interests, but they didn't get it/understand/cared? I have done before. I use to try and show my brother either something I found funny or an anime or even a scene from Yu-gi-oh abridged, but he wasn't really hyped up about it as I was.
