However, claiming to be Imperio'd and claiming to give me the diary are both easy get out of jail free cards. If there's no counterclaims on the diary, I'll trust you, but if I learned anything in the last game I was in, it's that the mafia will sometimes go to great lengths to clear their teammates and themselves to win.

Depending on which Death Eaters are in the game, we could have a double agent DE. Snape would be working for Dumbledore while pretending to be a Death Eater. Lucius Malfoy would be willing to abandon YKW if he failed. So it's possible a Death Eater is Snape or Malfoy and are working their own angle. Gimme could be Snape if that kind of logic is used. But I am not sure Snape is in the game tbqh.

Snape is in the game. Dumbledore is alive, so he's not yet headmaster, and he's the head of Slytherin House. Pomona was head of House Hufflepuff, but she's kind of dead now, which is a really shitty first loss for us.

If a DE did indeed give it to gimmepie, the only reason I can think of is that the DE was afraid of it getting stolen and revealing his identity. But I'm with Wiicked on gimmepie's cred.
