Hoenn Remakes?

i don't even like the hoenn region it was a good storyline and all but the pokemon sucked everything else were good region and people. I'd Play it but the only hoenn pokemon would be Mudkip and probably Treeko

I honestly dont think we need a remake of them after HG/SS, personally i just want a game where you can go to all regions and catch all pokemon without having to trade :p

It's possible, but don't expect something like it for a long time. Just imagine how long it took for a Jhoto remake!!QUOTE]
I think you guys are forgetting that ruby and sapphire came out 8 YEARS AGO!!
Think of the time from red and blue to FR/LG! And G/S/C To HG/SS!! Around 8-9 years! Dont say it would be a long time. it could happen very soon. I would love to see mor islands instead of wter routes, those got soo annoying.Atleast remove some wild tentacools! Hoenn was the most geographicallyt diverse region, the climates have such an extreme range, you have rain forest, volcano, beach, desert, ocean, forest, mountainous, etc. Some of the hoen pokemon look too much like neopets though, which got annoying. they tried to make them look too modern.

I would love remakes.
Mainly because I like Pokemon in general.
Hoenn was okay and I liked it.
It was one of the first games I was able to play without help.
It really got me started on Pokemon, so I wouldn't mind seeing it again.

Most people hate Hoenn, me included; it won't be a popular remake series and not only because the originals are modern-looking enough, but they'll probably do it anyway.
The fact Game Freak makes remakes anyway is a clear show that they're running out of ideas, which is funny since if they made an obvious to-do: a PC-based MMO, the franchise would likely see a resurge in popularity.
I disagree with the claim they're running out of ideas - IMO making remakes =/= lack of ideas at any rate. (First off don't forget the new games/regions they've brought every gen as well as the remakes they brought, and all those new features/problems fixed in the remakes as well.) It's more that sticking to a general formula and remaking games brings them $$$, so they don't bother trying to fix something that is far from broken - looking at sales, it's certainly working very well for them. HG/SS will quite likely continue to prove that when it comes out outside of Japan.

An MMO as well? Nintendo and Game Freak don't operate like that, and I doubt it'd actually work when considered. That and a resurge in popularity would be unlikely to happen, as Pokemon is already still popular. *points to game sales that broke records - even Platinum's*
Slow down there, I didn't say everyone; stop touting that anti-generalisation tripe.
My statement is coming from the numerous polls I've seen in the past, with enough replies to encompass most of the active members of this board. If you have a considerably larger show of opinions that says otherwise, please do present it.
Wll I can show one such one on another forum: https://serebiiforums.com/showthread.php?t=398384 I can say that the majority of that thread (with 400+ replies) are along the lines of 'people who hate the games are silly I love the third gen', some with reasons. Plenty liked the games, and if a RSE remake is ever made, by the time it happens there would be many new gamers to buy and play it who haven't played RSE before (ten years or so would be a lot of time afterward).

But if it happens, it wouldn't be until midway in the 5th gen at the very earliest, I'd imagine, and maybe they'd want to make another new game instead. It's up to them really, so we'd have to wait and see.

Unlikely to happen, IMO - GameFreak have only ever gone at most two regions in the one game (with GSC which was downsized majorly), and seeing as they make plenty of money from games with just the one region, they'd stick to that. A game with all regions would possibly hurt their sales in the long term, I'd imagine - why buy a game with one region - but a new one - when the last one had all of them? Then there's problems, such as levelling - you'd hit the level 100's by the third region, and then what? Either that or each journey is very small... and we don't want downsized regions.

As for the comment that Hoenn Pokemon rule/suck... well, I've seen such comments applied to every generation. Whether they suck or not is subjective, really... IMO some suck, and some were pretty decent. =P

tentacool were sooooo annoying

Is it really that hard to buy repels? "wild pokemon are stupid and annoying but I don't want to use repels just because" that's weird. I always use repels when i'm going through grassy areas/caves/whatever. Seriously people, for the water routes, use a god damn Repel and Hoenn is suddenly a whole lot better!

*end rant*

Really though, Emerald was awesome. Let's start with having BOTH Team Magma and Team Aqua in one game. That was awesome. The plot was fun. The Battle Frontier was a lot more fun than the PtHGSS Battle Frontier will ever be. The region was cool, with the volcano, tree town, space station.. Emerald was a lot of fun.

Sadly, there's a way too high chance that IF they ever create remakes of the 3rd gen games, they won't do a remake for Emerald, which would be sad. Emerald was - and still is - my favorite pokemon game. Even though most of the pokemon aren't really amusing *coughzigzagooncough*, some of them were really cool, like the Regis and the Weather Trio.

Hoenn was in my opinion awesome. I'm sick of hearing people crying about "ohmygawsh, waaaaay too much water, suxx0r" I mean, avoid the trainers (or battle them, but that will take a bit more time obviously), use a Repel and it takes you what? 3-5 minutes?

I think they will re-make hoenn. They will want to make it for the DS with the touch screen, since RS was on GBA. They'll update it like they have with GS

Agreed. I always used repels through the water unless I wanted to battle water pokemon. Hopefully if they remake them they'll use the emerald battle frontier.

Emerald was my favorite game as well... but I let my friend borrow it, a long with my ruby and LG. Now we're not really friends anymore and knowing him he probably threw my games away.

It seems likely that it will happen. I used to love Hoenn, but now it's old and boring. So I think it would be refreshing and cool.

Well, when a new handheld system gets released, 5th gen will follow, and then we will probably see some remakes.

They should make a remake with a new landmass, where you beat that, go to khanto, then johto, then hoenn, then sinnoh. or one that combines all four landmasses into one, that would be ideal and probably a best seller, but they should do it where there are four different pokemon leagues, but only one battle tower (i would suggest in between the johto and hoenn chapter.)

In the GSC games 2 regions were in there, thats where people got the idea of a game to include all the regions. If they ever do that, it will probably be the last of the pokemon games. But I dont see that happening right now. People are so siked about HGSS, theyre forgetting about hoenn and saying how much it sucked. Dont be so quick to underrate it. RS was the first to introduce the abilities, weather, and the battle frontier (emerald) :D

Someone who said something about emerald up there ^^ (too lazy to quote) llike they did with HGSS adding the crystal story to it, they most likely will add the emerald story to the RS remakes. Well the main story will make more sense if they add the emerald story. (rayquaza for the win yo!) And just think, the technology now made HGSS's landmass unbelievable, think what they would do to Hoenn! My gosh just think about fortree city! xDD And improved secret bases. Maybe they can add some new routes like they did with HGSS. The time spand makes sense as someone said in a previous post. It has been almost 8 years since ruby and sapphire's release. Its the same thing with HGSS 8-10 year spand.

But Im getting ahead of myself, I want to take it one game at a time....arghh I can't! Well I guess we wont find anything else until next summer when the new pokemon movie is released. But its still nice to dream :]

i think its too soon. the games arent that old. and there wouldn't be that much to change, outside of a few natures and abilities, i think if they do, they should wait for about two years after the new gen V games come out, whenever that will be. give it some time to get old(er).

I hated Hoenn, the pokemon designs were dumb, they got rid of the day night system, andyou could barely get any Johto pokemon. The only pokemon I really liked from Hoenn was Altaria, and that's only because it saved me so much in the E4.

But R/S was playable, the end of emerald sucked. Why would they put the "champion" to have only water pokemon, I destroyed him with my Lanturn. But then there was a trainer in Victory Road who had a Lanturn who knew Earthquake. So much BS.

i honestly don't think we need remakes R/S Remake because the original is already have good graphic unlike Red/Blue or Gold/Silver

but i guess there's big possibility they will make remake for RS,so i don't mind

Err, well, I'm all for remakes considering the Hoenn games sucked.
Maybe if they remake them they can make them somewhat better.. the plot is in desperate need of it, that's for sure.
I'm tired of saying that the Battle Frontier/Tower was the only good point to those games. x.x;

But honestly I wouldn't go expecting a remake of the Hoenn games for at least a few more years.
After all, it took them 10-13 years or so to remake the first and second generations..
and they needed it way more than the Hoenn games do.

I dunno about you guys but I would much rather see a new generation instead of more remakes.

I always believed in this since HGSS were announced , so YEAH I believe there will be Hoenn Remakes coming with the fifth Gen. but on a newer system, ,which might take some time for Nintendo to release and create it .

I think they should keep DSi for longer, and just keep making better graphics.

But yeah, Hoenn'll be awesome, as long as they keep the original battle frontier.I just wish you could name your rival.

And i imagine Hoenn to look like Battle Zone, all tropically (omg, wot if they put Heatran in Mount Chimney post-E4???)

Since they made a remake of the Johto games, HGSS, there will most definately be a remake of the Kanto And Hoenn games.

Kanto has already been remade in the form of Leaf Green and Fire Red. XD;
