How Aggressive in Music have you gone?

I don't think the metal I listen to is considered very "heavy," the best examples I have are Disturbed, Korn, partly System of a Down, maybe Pantera. Godsmack and Drowning Pool also. Though in terms of actually liking hardcore, I'm an avid fan. And yes, I also fall asleep while listening to it.

Thanks for showing me this song. It's amazing.

@topic
I pretty often listen to Metal but it's not that I only listen to it. Calm songs are ok as well.

Hey, no problem glad you liked it!

Heavy stuff is alright if it's well-done, but more often than not it isn't which is why I usually don't listen to it. I'm not really an aggressive guy when it comes to musical choice, I like calmer stuff.
If you read the first post, you'll find out that this thread isn't asking if you like listening to heavy songs, though you are free to state if you do or do not (and give a reason as to why), it's asking what the heaviest thing you listened to was. Try to add that aspect in your reply somehow. Otherwise, your post really doesn't contribute to the topic and will be looked upon as SPAM.

I've also heard some nice songs by Linkin Park, Fall Out Boys and All American Rejects, but I'm not sure if they go into aggressive music.

That very objective....millions of people consider hardcore metal great music. Like I said, it's all up to personal preference, and it takes a different kind of taste to enjoy it.

I never said Metal music isn't a great genre I simply said screaming isn't soothing, but usually provokes anger or drowns out feelings.

I'm a fan of alot of Black/Death/Progressive Metal, but even I know when the line has crossed between actual music, and "noise."

That being said, I'm gonna go with the practical answer here, and say anything by Cannibal Corpse. There's no real melody in any of their songs, and rarely will you even find anything by them that isn't just about ripping apart someone's flesh. Oh, and how can we forget such songs as "hammer smashed face," "make them suffer," and "sentenced to burn?" I'd say they're the "heaviest/most aggressive," but I find it hard enough to even categorize that crap into a genre of music.

there is a large difference between screamo, growling, and rasps. you may think they are the same, but let me assure you they are very different. and the amount of skill involved would blow your mind, and it is very difficult to do endurance wise.

I dunno if I would count death stars as extreme metal, maybe a form of industrial.

Inflames, Equilibrium (specially the latest album Sagas), and Children of Bodom (other than blooddrunk) are good melodeath (or alterations)

For those of you who liked the female vocals of that inflames song, you should look into symphonic metal. There are many very good symphonic metal singers which are far from harsh.

If you like equilibrium check out Eluveitie, another folk twist on melodeath, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iijKLHCQw5o

Add some trance elements with inflames, made by crazy japanese people and you got Blood Stain Child, very weird but they grow on you.

If you like Children of Bodom try out some Norther...

What can I say, I know alot about metal... :D

btw, cannibal corpse sucks... :D

I laugh at this thread.

I LISTEN TO METAL!

Metal is the DEFINITION of aggressive musi.

Metallica
Slayer
Pantera
Dethklok
Megadeth
Iron Maiden

I can go on!

well it is all in perspective... :P
for example I am sure we could agree Brutal Death Metal exceeds Megadeth any day... :D

there is aggressive, and then the aggressive of the aggressive... lol

The most aggressive I've gone? Things like Thrash Metal and stuff, I'd reckon. My taste in music varies from things like (Alternative) Rock, J. Rock, Indie and sometimes even Pop-Rock, to Thrash Metal, Screamo and that kinds of stuff.

Well, I listen to Papa Roach, Three Days Grace, and Seether the most. Rev Theory also i guess. Not Aggresive, but loud.

Pain from three days grace is my favorite, though i dont know if it is aggresive...Can you check?

That's not anything aggressive in my opinion. It's some of the music I would listen to on the occasion; and I don't really listen to anything heavy, really. The artists you listed are ones I have in my library. Rev Theory, in my opinion, is noting heavy either. I actually have their full album. Now, back when their name was "Revolution Theory", I didn't really like their music at all. It seems like they were heavy at one point, but went softer and more towards alternative sounding.

That song is actually pretty nice. :3

I don't listen to anything like that, the only exception is Rammstein; not always aggressive but definetly far more aggressive than anything else I listen to.

I can listen to everything. Really. But I don't love extreme metal genres or hardcore.

Heaviest would be Cannibal Corpse, Bring Me The Horizon or Atari Teenage Riot.

Heaviest where I listen much to is Dream Theater, Metallica or Enter Shikari

I like Rev Theroy. Pretty Agressive, and my fav song from them is Light it up.

For me the heaviest i listen to is probably Underoath, Enter Shikari, Alexisonfire and the like... so nothing to ott. Oh and "For Stevie Wonders Eye's only" by bring me a Horizon is a good song.

Mostly I listen to the LostProphets/AFI's of this world

I listened to a band called Sadus a few days ago. I think that is the heaviest I have went, along with Kreator. I don't really like death metal that much, so I don't usually go there.

Well I listen to The Devil Wears Prada, one of my favorite songs are by them, Still Fly. I also listen to Atreyu, Bullet For My Valentine, Hawthorne Heights, Alesana, and Silverstein.

Umm. I listen to an array of metal and rock, I ahve ahd a taste of death metal but I'm not that big of a fan of it XD

I suppose the heaviest albums I have are by:

In flames
Cradle of filth
Otep
Korn

Umm...I suppose I have more but I can't really remember XP I listen to symphonic and gothic metal mostly and I'm not against such things as Green day, Muse which are rock-punk/pop-rock or whatever lol I ahve some Rob Zombie, some Incubus, Iron maiden, Slayer...yeah I'm pretty open minded when it comes to forms of metal.

Um.. rock-wise, probably the heaviest I've ever GONE was Dimmu Borgir.. But that was when I was young and naive. Now, it's mainly DragonForce, Rhapsody, Blind Guardian, Kamelot, Nightwish, Helloween, etc.

Techno-wise.. I'm all out on hardcore. First off, I listen to.. hardcore >.> As well as speedcore, terrorcore, metalcore, etc. That's about as hardcore as you can get.
