Same as title. Do you hold your thumbs on the analog sticks and your index and middle fingers on the shoulder buttons? Or perhaps a more exotic combination?

    depends on controller itself.
Home Consle games I usually use only my indes finger for the should buttons while the middle finger gets unused (refrence for games with 2 triggers)

as for handheld I used to play monster Hunter on the psp as the well know "claw".
Where you but your index finger on the d-pad and the middle finger on the trigger.

now on the vita I play it like a normal consle except I use my right index finger for touch puposes.

Thumbs on analog sticks, index fingers on top shoulder buttons and middle fingers on the bottom.

I'm very comfortable holding it how it is held most commonly. I've seen some "professional" gamers using different ways to hold their controllers but this isn't necessary for me because I'm perfectly fine and don't have issues with the way I hold it now. Therefore, there is no reason to change. It would be nice if all controllers kept their analog sticks and buttons in the same/very similar positions because I find it weird to hold different controllers since I use the Xbox one for my PC so much. This is also down to the shape of others but man it can hinder my gameplay. The Steam controller looks like it will have to take a lot of getting used to, would've been nice if they just had made very minor changes to the Xbox controller but it is actually different in many aspects.

I don't think I've ever held a controller other than what they intended it. The only way I could imagine that happening is with the Nintendo 64 controller, since those were designed for people with three arms.

I have my left thumb on the joystick and then my right thumb hovers over the abxy buttons. If I need to use the other joystick then I move my thumb over but it naturally rests on the buttons. Other than that I guess I just hold it normally? It just seems weird to constantly have your thumbs on both analogs.

I usually twindle my thumbs on analog controller of my PS2 it gives me more flexibility and control with ease and my other fingers locked down on d-pad and AB buttons :3

...The way you're supposed to I guess? Given how different most controllers are I really don't know of any other way to put it. x:

Well now that I think about it I usually have my left thumb over either the D-pad or analogue stick, and my right thumb over either the right analogue stick or the buttons. And my index fingers are usually over the shoulder buttons.

But, you know, a lot of controllers are different.

I dont, my fingers are on W,A,S,D and my left hand is on my mouse.

    BOOM
