STEVONNIE! And they fused so easily, too. I can't wait to see them again after this!

Am I the only one who found Rainbow Quartz to be kind of creepy? I love Opal, and Rainbow Quartz looks similar to her, but something seemed off... maybe it was just Pearl's anger.

Speaking of Pearl, she was so damn mean in this episode XD I actually laughed at her. In a later episode, will she finally get over Rose and fall in love with Amethyst instead?

I was intrigued by the seductive and awkward sides of Rose this episode. She's a good singer, too. I was also glad that Greg took Steven and Connie fusing in stride.

Two of my predictions came true (that Stevonnie would show up, and that Pearl and Rose would fuse)!

Good grief Pearl was being a smug little turd in rubbing it in Greg's face that he cannot fuse. You could even see it in the face of Rainbow Quartz... xD It's even funnier when I remember Pearl saying earlier on in the show that "Gems only fuse in emergencies!" Riiiiight. >w>
It was interesting to note that Rainbow Quartz was a near perfect fusion with the exception of the multiple eyes. I'm still curious about Pearl and Rose's relationship beyond the knight/liege thing. Did Rose ever acknowledge Pearl's very apparent thirst feelings?
I like how they showed that Rose wasn't always this perfect being full of genuine love for humans like she was by the time she was pregnant with Steven. I think Pearl was right in that at the beginning of the episode, Rose was still at a place where she saw humans as ephemeral playthings. I mean, she cared about 'em, but didn't quite yet have a genuine interest in beginning to understand how humans feel. But then she and Greg had that honest talk at the end and were off on that path of love and better understanding of each other in discussing how they feel. Very cute stuff... And by the time Rose made that video for Steven she truly did love human beings and what they experience beyond just "they're so funny."
Speaking of "human beings" I think Steven felt a little alienated by that exchange Connie and Greg had at the end. Being half gem/half human must be hard sometimes..

omg first off, keeping it together was amazing, seeing garnet in that kind of distress, that's a first for her. then in we need to talk, omg like stevonnie, rainbow quartz, and ahhh, now we know a little bit more about rose :3

but if steven inherited rose's gem, if steven were to fuse with pearl, would they become rainbow quartz, or another different fusion?

anyways, i feel like for a fusion to work very properly, there should be a very deep connection between the two individuals, would make sense why ruby and sapphire can hold on to garnet pretty long, and how steven and connie can fuse together so easily, even though one of them isnt a gem.

Stevonnie came back, yes. And Rainbow Quartz looked like an eighties backup dancer...save for the extra eyes. Pearl really treasures Rose, but damn, why treat Greg like that? I feel better knowing she wasn't always so regal and pure-hearted, despite her gem being a pearl. Actually, it'd be nice to see that come up in another episode, her jealously of Rose and Greg, I mean. And even though Rose and Greg didn't completely fuse, they did fuse hearts ♥ The awkwardness was cute, by the way.

And I wonder, why are Opal and Stevonnie the only Fusions with two eyes?

Keeping It Together

Salty Pearl is salty. Figured she would behave that way but geez even for a Pearl lover like myself it was hard to watch. Glad we explored Rose a little more though.. she's clearly not the perfect being she was made out to be before so I'm not as disappointed in her as some other fans. Guessing she has "dated" multiple humans at some point in the past and has always spoke with them as if they were playthings? Gems are so different from humans so I don't blame her for not understanding how relationships really even work. Happy her and Greg ironed everything out later and the relationship ended up working out. :)

Not what I expected at all. Feel awful for struggling Lapis, really hoping they can help her soon. Best part though? Pearl's dream and Garnet falling face-first onto the floor at the end. omg lol.

Chille Tid thoughts (and I have a lot to say about this one):

So Steven is calling out to Lapis in his dreams? Does he have latent psychic powers? Did Rose?

Let's talk about Lapis. I've been thinking about her after this episode. She says, "Why won't you let me do this for you?" to Steven, just as Pearl did in the first episode of the Stevenbomb. Did Lapis know Rose? The mirror that held Lapis was in Pearl's possession. Did Rose betray Lapis and trap her in the mirror? Rose had healing tears, so she must have not healed Lapis's gem on purpose.

If Lapis never knew Rose, then why did she intentionally not tell the Homeworld Gems that Steven had Rose's powers? If she had a relationship with Rose, that would also explain why Lapis yelled "Did you even wonder who I used to be?!" at the Crystal Gems.

Here's my theory. Maybe Lapis and Rose were in a relationship. What if Lapis was a part of Rose's regiment before the other Crystal Gems joined, but when Rose rebelled, Lapis didn't want to protect Earth? Then Rose, afraid that Lapis would betray her, cracked Lapis's gem and trapped her in the mirror because she felt too guilty to "finish the job" as it were. However, Rose never trusted the other Crystal Gems with the information that Lapis was so powerful, and she hoped that her new "incarnation," Steven, would be able to fix things for her. Thus, when Lapis realized that Steven had Rose's abilities, she decided that he was like a good version of Rose and wanted to protect him.

The coloring reminds me of Jasper, and apparently it's an ~alternate birth stone for the month of August. (Peridot is its primary)

Methinks a gem from Home World coming to check on Jasper/Peridot, or maybe it's Jasper's real name?!?!? Iono.

I loved it. Pearl is so great. I love her watching her deal with her unrequited love. It was great watching Connie develop. And Steven was so precious in this episode.

Thought seeing this was awesome, too. I'm pretty certain that Rose was in some position of power at some point. :<

Pearl's gay dream lmao
I feel like Steven's dream was kind of..a reference to the end of the previous episode. Like, in his first dream, he's a HUMAN BEING and so are the rest of the gems. I feel like he felt slightly alienated by Greg/Connie's ~human bonding~.

ALSO I like that they're building on Steven's ~psychic powers. We saw them for a sec when he did the thing with the tv in Maximum Capacity.

I'm really excited for the next Stevenbomb. n_n

I think fusion was a major, underutilized tactic that the Crystal Gems used to protect the Earth. From what Jasper said in Jailbreak, it seems like the Homeworld Gems look down upon fusion. The experiments, then, could have been used to artificially fuse the shards of their fallen enemies to use as weapons for use in invading different planets.. Obviously it didn't quite work because the Homeworld Gems don't understand what makes fusion work, like, at all.

1. Who is your favorite non-gem character? Lars! He does seem to be kind of a douche but I feel like he cares about Sadie a lot more than he chooses to show, and at some point in the show I expect him to decide against trying to be 'cool'.
2. Which character do you feel you're most like? I feel like I'm most like Connie, because I have a lot of worries but I care a ton about my closest friends and I always am looking to help them out in any way possible.
3. Who is your favorite gem overall (not limited to Crystal Gems)? Lapis Lazuli (Peridot is an extremely close second) because she has a mysterious background I can't wait to find out about. Also, both of their designs are awesome.
4. Do you draw fanart or write fanfiction of the series? Would you? I draw some fanart here and there, but nothing too cool just yet; otherwise I would show it off c: I would love to write something based on the series but I have not yet.
5. Favorite song from Steven Universe? It's too hard for me to pick one, I honestly love all of them, but I guess the main theme song haha
6. What do you think of Lion, Steven's pet pink lion? Adorable, and I personally think it's like the preservation of Rose Quartz embodied in a lion. That's my theory anyway, especially because inside the mane Steven gets whatever he wants.

Lapis does seem like she has at least some history with Rose and the Crystal Gems; would be awesome to explore that further sometime soon because right now we have waaay too many questions left unanswered. Especially why Steven has the power to communicate with gems through sleeping?

I like the main theme song eventhough its stuck in my head but my favorite is the one garnet sings in that one episode i cant remember the title but its when ruby and sapphire got reunited.

He has alot of mystery surrounding him but i love how he kinda try's to look indifferent about all the random things that happen but in battle hes quite ferocious i really love him and i like how they chose the color pink for him to go along with rose quartz's color.

Ocean Gem was a great episode that I need to rewatch more but I find myself hooked on the later half of the first season which was pretty amazing. What are your guys most-rewatched episodes?

Actually, MIrror Gem and Ocean Gem are some of my most rewatched episodes too, because they're so suspenseful.
If you had asked me before the Stevenbomb2, I would've said On the Run and Rose's Scabbard, but now it's actually the ones that just aired! Okay, not the Ronaldo one, but the other four.

Favorite Episode: Ugh this is hard XD I'm stuck between 'Jailbreak' and 'Island Adventure', but I have to go 'Jailbreak'.

How did I start watching SU: I saw the pilot episode when it released in 2013 from SDCC. I was hooked.

1. Who is your favorite non-gem character?
Has to be Lars. He's very interesting with his backstory and an enjoyable personality, with him trying to be cool and secluded at one point but then open and caring (mainly for Sadie) at the other point.

2. Which character do you feel you're most like?
Connie.

3. Who is your favorite gem overall (not limited to Crystal Gems)?
So far, Jasper. Great to see a rival for Garnet

4. Do you draw fanart or write fanfiction of the series? Would you?
I have drawn Pearl and Amethyst in my sketchbook, but nothing digital yet. Maybe when I build my PC I will do more digital art (having a tablet with a laptop doesn't feel right to me when I draw with it)

5. Favorite song from Steven Universe?
Be Wherever You Are. Such a great tune and amazing singing. I do love a lot of other songs, though, like Giant Woman, Do it for Him/Her and, of course, Stronger Than You

Intriguing. I want to see more of it's connection to Rose.
