Then it's name really has more than one meaning and many references in it. That's pretty cool. Rodents that it was designed after, the Japanese sounds for sparkle and squeek, and possible the word for kiss. Who would have known the name Pikachu could have so many possible meanings?
 
Yeah, actually a lot of Pokémon do that. There are so many Japanese words it's not even funny.

Did anyone know that Lucario's name is actually the same in Japanese? It's not Rukario or anything...
 
Yep, but only on the Japanese version. The Surf Glitch and that one thing where you ride your bike and it makes the screen black. I forgot what it's called.

I did know that, it's cuz s/he dreams of flying. That's why salamences are so happy ^.^ Unless the Bagon really is commiting suicide. Then << that's not in effect, and the Salamence, cannot be happy.

Did you know, in the anime they once made a refrence to the games where there wuz a team called 'The B-Button League' who used all un-evolved pokemon?? There are more references but I can't remember them right now.
