I'll be happy to be the first person to ask you questions, Mr. Wentos. :3
1. Do you ever see yourself in an anchor-like position in news? Or maybe doing field reporting? When I was in journalism classes, I was typically the person behind the camera, so would working in the studio be your thing, or would you rather be in front of the camera? So many questions, of course!
2. What first got you interested in journalism?
3. How would you describe Spain's Government in a nutshell?
My main goal is to be a writer, which is my current job. Although in my new position in Argentina, I'll be supposed to help with TV as well- but I'm a camera-shy person so I'd rather not be on screen unless absolutely needed. Obviously not to being an anchor XD
A politics comic I started reading when I was 8. I have thousands of them in a cupboard in my room XD Then the free tabloids that appeared around the 00's got me used to the concept of a newspaper.
A freaking mess. Corruption scandals breaking out 24/7, moronic ministers, a climate of popular discontent and an useless Congress which only says "yes master" to anything brought up by the President.
Hello Victor!
¿Real Madrid, Atletico de Madrid, Razing, Atletico de Bilbao? Which is your favorite Spanish soccer team? Or do you hate futbol?
If you pronounce the words "Atlético de Bilbao" here, be ready to get hordes of Athletic Club supporters with pitchforks calling you fascist (no joke: Atlético Bilbao was the name Athletic Club was forced to use during Franco's fascist dictatorship because their real name sounded "too foreign"). If you call them "Athletic Bilbao", they might spare your life.
Also Racing? Poor dudes- they have been relegated two years straight, from 1st division in 2011 to 2ndB this year. And they might even get a bonus relegation to 3rd division if an alleged match-fixing scandal is proven.
Anyway,
Runs on the family. My grandfather was an Athletic supporter, my grandmother was an Atleti one soo... I chose the Madrid one since I lived there and not in Bilbao XD
Oh, nameless great Journalists and Writers escaped Spain to live and work in Buenos Aires. Ramón Goméz de la Cerna himself. I'm sure you won't be an exception.
So, what do you expect of Buenos Aires?
I really don't know! I expect a 21st Century city, full of culture and cheap meat. It helps that I'll be paid in euros so that's going to help my income rate greatly. But, as I said, I'm not expecting anything- I'm open to whatever happens! (I AM expecting the October Legislative elections though, that will be fun).
I'm a huge sucker for RPGs. Just beat Tales of Graces f and Mario & Luigi 4. I'm now looking forward to Pokémon (obv :P) and the last Layton/Ace Attorney games.
How does it feel being one of the few staff members at PC to not be from an English-speaking country?
Well, I'm not the only one so I'm not completely alone :P Idk. I haven't really felt "special".
A Spaniard! That's pretty awesome. I love buying CDs too, especially music albums. I feel like that has more sentimental value than just buying tracks off iTunes, and I can play tunes whenever I'm in a car too.
What made you so interested in journalism in the first place?
Certainly. Not to mention iTunes tracks aren't really "owned" by you. I'd rather have a physical copy. I'm not much of a 100% digital person yet (until I move and end up forced to buy games from the eShop because regional locking but that's another topic XD).
La segunda ya tal (aka Derk already asked that :P)
I still prefer buying CDs over downloading music. It's a lot more personal and sentimental that way. I love the feeling of actually owning something cause it's gratifying.
Anyway, what kind of books do you read? Any specific genre?
Exactly! And books? Uh, I'm a sucker for mystery/police novels (currently reading the Jaritos series by Petros Márkaris), and I have around 30 Agatha Christie books XD Also politics. Specially if there is a touch of humour here and there. I'm not that serious most of the time.
