if you could recolor a shiny

there's a lot of shiny I would like to be recolored. the problem is I'm not good with picking what color they should rather be hahaha. garchomp could be something a little more distinct rather than a darker tone of the original. blaziken could have the same color and style as torchic. shiny torchic is so cool <3

My favorite Pokemon, I really hate that bright green coloring they gave it
I would make Espeon more pink like Sylveon - would look adorable
I love the light purple, pink would be nice (at least to me)

Though there are others I dislike more, I think I'd pick Persian since it's one of my favorites whose Shiny I think could be improved. Its FRLG Shiny palette looks pretty decent to me, having slightly lighter colors than any of the other games, but muting the yellow would create an even more noticeable distinction. Here I borrowed some shades from Shiny Dewgong:

Normal vs Shiny (FRLG) vs My Shiny

I tried playing around with other eye/gem colors (sapphire, amethyst, topaz), but I honestly think they look best as-is.

Aside from "fixing" Shinies, I would LOVE to have a pink-and-yellow Mothim. I adore the current Shiny Mothim (I consider it my favorite aesthetic Shiny), but I need something to tide me over until we get a rosy maple moth Pokémon! ;w;

Game Freak disrespected Espeon/Jolteon by giving them gross green shades. I'd much rather Espeon be given the Glaceon treatment and just have a more saturated pink of some sort, and Jolteon is kind of a harder case, but black/red eyes could work for it in order to make it look "dark", if that makes any sense. Just throwing spaghetti at the wall here but imo that'd be much better than a gross-looking green.

Same for Dragonite/Salamence. For shits and giggles Dragonite would look kinda fun being pink, and Salamence would do well having of a more reddish shade to indicate its rage.

tl;dr not all shiny green shades are great and these are the prime examples

Agreed about all the green shinies. For some Pokémon it works but for others it's like, wtf were they thinking?? Espeon is the biggest culprit here, imo. It would be fine with just a darker purple. Not a big fan of shiny Hawlucha either. It's like they designed it with a dart board of colors and just hoped for the best. Pretty much any other options would be better lol. And shiny Lucario just.. completely loses any coolness it might have had when shiny. :/ Giving it a red and white motif would at least look a little cooler.

Espeon's Shiny most likely references chlorophyll, green pigments that absorb sunlight. Jolteon's Shiny reminds me of the glow-in-the-dark stars I used to get as a kid, so it may represent phosphorescence. (I think a green-glowing Jolteon at night would look pretty sweet.) It could also reference green energy.

I'm also not a fan of them aesthetically, but I can sort of appreciate what they were going for.

I kind like the dark green and purple shiny Dragonite rocks. Easily one of my favorite green shinies. On the other hand, Nidoqueen's definitely needs to be changed to fit the pattern that it's prevolutions follow because looking at it too long makes me nauseous.

And while we're at it, do something more creative and interesting with Qwilfish's shiny. It and Mega Garchop have negativity impacted my view on pink shinies more than all the vomit green shinies have affected my view of green shinies. At least we never have to see the failure that Mega Garchop is, both competitively and design wise, ever again after gen 8 gets released. Just make something more appealing for Qwilfish's shiny than the two most garish shades of lavender out there stacked atop each other.

I'd make a shiny Butterfree pink, mainly because of the anime.

Shiny Nidoqueen should be purple, since shiny Nidoking is blue.

I'd turn a shiny Crobat black, with purple wings, given it's popularity with the evil teams.

Personally I don't really mind the green shinies because at least they don't look exactly like their normal forms in most cases. Pokémon like Glaceon, Garchomp, Leafeon, Gengar, etc. deserve better. Garchomp and Gengar got that in the form of their mega's shinies, but I'd like to see like an Autumn colored Leafeon or like maybe a dark blue Glaceon.

Came here to see if anyone mentioned same-y Shiny forms like Garchomp. Was not disappointed. They really should look noticeably different! Even stuff like Pikachu (moreso Pichu( are hard to tell at times... I would not mind a retcon in these cases, tbh.

Agreed on the Nidoqueen/Nidoking parallel. But disagree on Shiny Crobat! It's cute being pink, and it's one of my favourite Shinies due to that.

Ugh, I completely forgot about the about the shinies that look identical to their non-shiny counterparts. The Togepi line is such a victim of this. Same with Gengar, Alomomola, Zapdos, Basculin, and Banette are all disappointing in that regard.

I second the broccoli green shinies, for Espeon and Dragonite. Espeon's fate is especially cruel because Umbreon has such a beautiful shiny. You don't treat two brothers like that, be good to one and screw over the other.

I am not an artist but maybe make Espeon the tan color of the desert sand with brilliant golden yellows eyes and inner ears to be like sunlight since Umbreon is the dark and the moonlight, while espeon represents he morning sun. The sun was worshipped in ancient Egypt in the form of the God Ra, so as homage to the Egyptians I would turn the stone on Espeon's forehead blue to evoke the sky or the stone Lapis Lazuli that was prized in Egyptian art and jewelry.

For Dragonite anything would be an improvement over the green paintbrush job he was saddled with, but why not just keep him pink? He'd look nice following the same pink and gold color scheme as his pre-evolutions.

Another unflattering green shiny I want to get a hold of is Nidoqueen. Nidoking is the king and Nidoqueen is the queen, he's the male, she is the female, the brother and sister, the husband and wife, the yin and the yang. They are opposites and complimentary. When Nidoking is shiny he takes on Nidoqueen's colors, he becomes blue. It looks good by the way. Let Nidoqueen take on his colors and become purple with the white chest and dark blue inner ears. They now interchange, I think that would be cool. She wears the pants this time!

100% not joking that I wish we actually had more bright green shiny Pokemon. I think a lot of Poison types could benefit from this (Gastly, Swalot, Stunky, Croagunk, and Trubbish all come to mind), since it gives off a bit more of a toxic vibe. Plus, it helps color blind people like me instantly recognize them as shiny, rather than guessing at Pokemon with minor shade differences,

I would make shiny Kecelon purple like one in the anime/Mystery Dungeon cause that is what I thought it looked like as a kid and then was really upset when I learned it was just a slightly different shade of green and a blue stripe.

Grachomp is another Pokemon I would change cause its shiny being just a little darker is really disappointing. The purple of the Mega form is only slightly better, but I hate the shade they went with. I'd give Grachomp a dark teal and red and Mega Garchomp would be black and red with a dash of white or yellow.

Wish they kept blue theme when doing shiny Gengar cause Gastly has that beautiful shade of blue for the haze part of its body and then gets the "slightly lighter" treatment when it evolves fully. I'd make Gengar the same shade of blue as Gastly's haze or a nice shade of red.

A white Arcanine would be awesome

I would re-color~ Dragonite, Slamence, Slaking (Wish it would be purple like shiny slakoth), Espeon, and Azumarill (Also wish the shiny was purple)
Not a big fan of green shinies D: they look sickly to me

I also have an issue with Shiny Lycanroc bc it's better off not being this weird dark blue shade but rather being black... sort of resembling Houndoom which I think would be super cool.
