If you still watch the Pokemon anime, what keeps you watching? If you stopped watching the Pokemon anime, why did you stop?

I stopped watching the Anime. I started watching the first episode of Pokemon Black and White and I instantly didnt like it. I prefer the older episodes of the anime.

I stopped late BW after seeing spoilers of what happened in the Isshu League. The sheer stupidity behind it caused me to abandon the anime. I was considering going back for XY, but then episode 60 happened. From what I gather, though, that whole Performance arc is a huge mess.

I stopped in BW and resumed for XY. BW Ash seemed like a newbie trainer and not one who has traveled through 4 regions already.

I suppose what keeps me watching or not watching the Pokemon anime is my degree of interest in the franchise as a whole. I found the third and fifth generations less interesting, so I stopped watching the anime at those points, because I just didn't care enough...and even watching both of those seasons later when I caught up with it I wouldn't have wanted to watch them whilst they were airing anyway, because they were both awful.

When Diamond and Pearl came out I immediately picked up the anime again, and the same with XY, although with the latter it was more excitement that the awful fifth generation was finally over and done with. I've since stopped watching XY and I doubt I'll watch XYZ until it's eiter finished airing dubbed or until the seventh generation is announced and I find the need to catch up with the anime again so I can feel comfortable watching the next series. I realise the anime series aren't really connected, but I just don't feel right having a gap of missed episodes.

I stopped after Galactic Battles, actually, because the channel that shows Pokemon didn't air the next season until a long time. I didn't like watching online because the internet then was pretty slow but I managed to watch the final episode of the Diamond and Pearl arc (it was subbed as a dubbed version wasn't out yet). I tried to watch the BW arc but I wasn't really interested, and then I tried to watch Kalos while there was no dub yet and I liked it but the buffering has annoyed me after a while. When Kalos finally aired on TV, I was far too busy with school related stuff to keep up... so, yeaaahh.

I stopped watching shortly into the Hoenn run for a couple of reasons. Not only did I stop due to Misty leaving, but also because I was starting to get bored with the increasing amount of fillers during the Johto era-with such long periods before the next gym battle.

Like Otter Mii-kun, I stopped watching in the Hoenn series. I didn't mind May, but the plots of the episodes felt repetitive. Especially for someone who had watched every episode of the anime up to that point. The episodes felt formulaic, and I got bored with the whole series.

I never really picked up watching the anime again, though I've heard the X/Y series is really good. Which I also heard about the Diamond/Pearl series, and that I watched completely a few months ago. It was good, because a lot of the episodes had different plots, and the characters were actually characters again. I was interested in Ash and his Pokemon. Same with Dawn and her Pokemon. And Brock just provided some humor that I actually laughed at.

While I've debated about watching the X/Y anime, I don't have the time to sit and watch it, so I'm back to not following the anime news until I get some free time.

I stopped watching it in Sinnoh, probably due to how many fillers were in it.

I started watching it again near the end of Sinnoh, and BW refreshed my interest in it with the rebootish feeling. What made people hate it, is what made me like it again. Sadly I couldn't watch all BW because it came on far earlier than I was ever awake. Thank arceus for DVR

I stopped watching at around mid Johto, then came back during DP, stopped at BW, and came back for a bit of XY but then stopped again.

Like Meloetta, I pretty much would watch depending on my level of overall interest in Pokemon. These were my major spikes of interest and most frequent periods of playing the games. But honestly, by now, I've pretty much realized the anime isn't worth watching. Everytime I jump back in, after watching a few episodes in, I get bored by how repetitive and boring the series is. There's barely any character development, the voice actors (of the English dub, and no, I don't want to watch it subbed) are awful, and the plot plays it so safe that there really isn't an ongoing conflict for me to care about. It's just a vague continuous goal that never ends for Ash with no hope of closure in sight. Something that, for how lengthy it is, is not worth getting invested in in my opinion.

I'll pretty much only pop in to watch an episode if it's particularly interesting or has my favorite Pokemon in it. (For instance, I watched the episode of XY where Braixen loses her stick because I love Braixens and found it to be adorable.)

I have yet to stop watching the Pokemon anime. I've been watching since the very beginning of the Sinnoh Saga. I'm reaching my ninth consecutive year of watching the Pokemon anime, and I don't intend to stop until it's over. Granted, I don't wake up in time for the episodes anymore, but I still watch it every single week. Honestly, what keeps me watching is the fact on its own that I've been watching the anime for so many years. I used to be very snide about what kept me watching, but it is true, I enjoy the Pokemon anime because I want to see where it's going to go. Not that the anime itself is exciting or anything like that, (it's not the most exciting anime, let's be real), I guess that wanting to know what Ash and co. does next, even if it's filler, keeps me watching... despite the fact I don't like Ash much, lol.
