6th Gen In-Game Quick Questions & Answers

So on my play through of Alpha Sapphire I only had 7 pokemon (whatever random shiny pokemon I had from breeding in or trades in Y, which was Noibat, Mankey, Vivillon, the Event Beldum, Wooper, Whismur and the event Gengar) and still wound up accruing a whopping 100 hours of gameplay by the time I finished the Delta Episode. I never went around catching pokemon or anything, I played through exploring as normal and just played the game and since they were all traded pokemon I couldn't even level grind, I had to go at a fixed pace or else they'd stop obeying, however since there are legendaries in Ruby I also need to get as they're version exclusive, I'm going to need a team that can motor through the game pretty easily (no legendaries as I can't breed those to start the game at level 1) in order to get to the end of the game to get the version exclusives.

Currently I am planning (and don't get hung up on the names, I haven't actually caught all of these yet so I don't know the final or first evolutionary form names, so I'm just using ONE of the names in the line for identification) Goomy Larvitar, Zorua, Volcarona, Aron and ?? So beside the lack of a 6th pokemon (that I haven't figured out yet) what gaps am I going to come across in my team (keeping in mind I don't know all the types of moves they can learn) I'm not concerned about Hm slaves as I can just trade the ones I have over to the new game (since I won't be battling with them the badges wont' matter) so who should my 6th member be, or who should I swap out for what?

(So I do have access to egg moves, the Move Tutor at the Battle area at the end of the game and all TMs/HMs other than Substitute, so if I am missing a move type I will need but can put it on via an egg move, TMs or battle institute move tutor right at level 1 then I can do that no problem)

Now that I've got my Adamant Groudon before 2015 and saved my Master Ball for Deoxys, I have one other question: Do you still have to enter the cave w/ Snorunts and Spheals under a specific time like in the originals?

When should I evolve Eevee into Sylveon?

Eevee's only opportunities for learning a Fairy-type move are at Levels 19 (Baby-Doll Eyes) and 29 (Charm) so make sure you make it learn the move first, along with the requirement of at least Level 2 affection in Pokemon Amie. Also as Howmander said, it also depends if there's any moves you want it to have that can only be learned as an Eevee.

Are the Mirage Spot Pokémon (e.g Giratina, Dialga, Zekrom) Shiny locked?

User 101 partly answered, but it is confirmed Mirage Spot Legendaries can be shiny, as well as Latios/Latias. The only legendaries that are shiny-locked are Groudon, Kyogre, Rayquaza and Deoxys.

Yes, in this case the high tide is between 09:00-15:00 and 21:00-03:00 on the 3DS clock, while low tide is at 15:00-21:-00 and 03:00-09:00.

it depends, does Eevee have have any level up moves you want it to learn that Sylveon can't? https://www.serebii.net/pokedex-xy/133.shtml If not, then evolve Syvleon ASAP

Are there any that are worth learning? I will be teaching it hyper voice for sure but I am not certain what the other 3 moves should be.

My Eevee has the egg move charm so it having a fairy move at level 1 means I could evolve it now if need be.

The only moves I can think of being worth learning are Baton Pass or maybe Trump Card. Baton Pass is actually somewhat useful for Sylveon, but Trump Card is very powerful with Pixilate though I still recommend Hyper Voice over Trump Card.

If you think that you might want either of those moves, I recommend leveling Eevee up to learn both of them and evolve it into Sylveon once it has both of those moves in its moveset. If you use the Move Reminder, not only will this mean you can have either of those moves back on Sylveon at any time in the future even if you don't want them right now, but it will also allow you to learn any move Sylveon itself learned by level-up even if it was still an Eevee at that level.

I don't know if my answer was worded very well, feel free to tell me if you don't understand a part of what I just said.

is it possible for a pokémon to lose its hidden ability upon evolving or am i just really really dumb? i swear i had a quick feet shroomish but the breloom has effect spore and i've now been DECEIVED into thinking that bullet seed is a good move on it and now it's like level 40 and i only just realised and it's terrible ):

Shroomish with Quick Feet are meant to evolve into Breloom with Technician. Both the Effect Spore and Poison Heal Shroomish keep their ability upon evolution, so I assume something could be wrong on your part. Are you sure it's not hacked?

oh it's definitely not hacked. i caught a jolly quick feet shroomish and a bullet seed shroomish and bred them together to make a jolly quick feet baby with bullet seed. i must've just misread the ability in that case. ah well, time to go start over. ): thanks anyway!

I have a quick question about items such as focus sash/berries/etc.
Do those items disappear for good if you use them up in Battlespot, and you have to go get more to use it again, or will it come back once the battle is over?

It's the latter, items that are one-use will regenerate between battles in competitive-style battles and facilities such as the Battle Maison/Tower/Subway etc.
