Has anyone tried one of those light-up alarms? Do you know if they work? I've considered getting one for my boyfriend who struggles to get up every day but they're like 30 bucks and if they don't work I don't want that money to go down the drain.
Wait, wait, what do you mean by "light up alarm?"

There's a paid app called Sleep Cycle. It's a dollar to buy.

It tracks your movements to determine which stage in your sleep cycle you're in, and it wakes you up nearest to the time your alarm is set when you're at your lightest stage of sleep, so that you can wake up feeling refreshed regardless of how many cycles you slept through. When you wake up then, it's easy to wake up.

Sounds cool, but its paid and I don't really buy apps but there might be another way to get that app -wink- -wink-

COFFEE!!! JAVAJAVAJAVAJAVAJAVAJAVA.........STAAAAARRRRRRBUUUUUCCCCCKKKKSSS!!!

Way too addicted to the stuff lately. Been drinking it at night too to keep me awake while I work on schoolwork. Been throwing off my sleeping patterns, but I figure once the semester's out I'll work towards getting myself back in sync.

I'm actually not that into coffee u_u; I drink it every so often (like once a month?? if even???), but..I don't have to have it. I'm usually relatively energetic throughout the day n_n;

I don't understand how people like the taste of coffee D: It's always been kind of disgusting to me >.< The closest thing would be Starbucks' frappuccinos, which I haven't had in a few years now that I think about...

:( I don't like the taste of coffee either. I didn't like tea for a long time, though, and I finally got myself to acquire that taste so I started to do it with coffee by working my way up with mochas.

...it turns out I think I might be allergic to coffee because I've felt sick after drinking even a little bit of it every time so far. The more coffee in the beverage, the worse I feel. It was really disappointing because I actually had started to like it and it seems it was all for nothing.

I'm a fan of coffee. Recently I tried it pitch black with no creamer and only sugar. It actually tasted really good. :O

Oh boy, that's no good :( Maybe you should stop drinking coffees for a while? Anyway, I'm not very fond of drinking coffees that I rarely drink it.
I haven't had any since December. :P I want to try again just to see if it was a fluke and maybe I won't get sick this time, but I haven't had the guts to possibly make myself sick this whole time. Maybe I'll give it one more try now that school's done and being sick won't seriously affect my performance anywhere.

.....You're hardcore. D:
I can only drink it with coffee and cream, or other fancy stuff added in. It's too harsh for me.
Maybe one day my taste buds will change. As of now... not happening u_u

I had coffee yesterday and ended up sleeping at 2 AM. It was horrible. For some weird reason it helped me lucid dream though.

Well, that's what coffee does to you! :P Even during all nighters in university, I would never resort to coffee to keep me out because somehow I managed by myself without the help of anything. I remember one night where it was kind of an impromptu decision to meet up with a friend to pull one, and we ended up watching anime most of the time XD Followed by some badminton where we were basically zombies.

Well, I finished my paper early (amazing, I talked about Bill Clinton for 1 and a half pages before mentioning his sexual escapades...new record), so I think I'll try to work towards getting my sleeping patterns back in order. I must find some way to knock myself out.

Wait, wait, what do you mean by "light up alarm?"

It's an alarm that slowly starts lighting up half an hour before you're meant to awake in the morning, ending with a room lit up like it's mid-afternoon - the effect is that you wake up gradually, when a sleep cycle naturally ends and your body recognizes that it's morning. Someone on Gizmodo said it changed his life, and he went from over a dozen alarms every morning to one that woke him up refreshed before the sound even went off.

My parents don't believe that I can wake myself up either by my body clock or my phone alarm so they always come barging into my room during school days to make sure -.- And speaking of alarm clocks, we have a couple creepy Hello Kitty ones that are probably 10 years old by now. One of them sometimes randomly makes noises during the day (or night, which spooks my sister out); we know it's because of the batteries, but it's still creepy to listen to it stutter!

There's also a bacon alarm clock that fries bacon ten minutes before going off, so you wake up to the scent of sizzling bacon. Bacon, man. It's God's gift to mankind.
