Following a brief (and now ended) period of very on/off activity from me, I thought this would be a nice thread idea. What's the longest amount of time you've ever spent being inactive, and why did you spend it being inactive? Were you as active as before when you came back?

Hmm, let's see...The last time I took a looooong absence was last year, actually. I started my new semester in college, and that prompted me to forget this place. :/ It was a 3-4 month absence. Before my absence I wasn't as active as today, despite the fact that I was new. After returning, I felt that my activity skyrocketed.

Quite a few months in either 08 or 09 and I was inactive because ~LEAVING PC FOREVER!!!~ was the cool thing to do between my friends :P I was gone for a few months and then I would sign on once or twice a month but not do anything. Then finally this year I picked it back up a bit and posted more :)

What's the longest amount of time you've ever spent being inactive, and why did you spend it being inactive? About two years or so, got bored of Pokemon battling.
Were you as active as before when you came back? Became a lot more active upon my return but I am bored of competitive battling again so I expect my activity to dwindle again now.

For me, inactivity is just plain not logging in. I typically post when I log on, and I log on daily, so...
Due to moving: Several months in 2009 (about end of July to September) of actively not logging in, and a month or two at the end of that year due to breaking my wireless receiver. I'd moved to my sister's apartment, and for awhile she didn't have Internet and no wireless receiver on her desktop to mooch off of neighbors. She inherited a laptop for a bit and was able to use that though. Then in October I bought a receiver for my desktop and it was okay until I broke it. Got truly active again January of 2010 when I moved into my new apartment and got a wireless card, something I couldn't break. :p
After that, the summer of 2007. Stayed with my sister that time too, but I was able to log on at least once a week.
Due to boredom: May - September 2004. Joined that May, posted around a day or two, and then only came on when I was bugged to post in the Ash fanclub. Just wasn't interested in PC, I guess. Came back in September when I got bored/mad with SPPf. I haven't been bored with the place since. Yeaaaaah.

About two-three months after I first joined PC (around the time I started school back up) I had basically left PC. I don't remember having any intentions at the time, but there were some people from PC that said that I should come back and talk in the fanclub that got me active the two months I was at PC. So, I eventually came back after about nine months (basically the summer after I left) but instead of participating more in the club I instead ventured into Other Trivia and had pretty much stayed there sense. :P
During the time of my 'absence' I was still on the computer a lot, but instead of being on forums I was at Livejournal roleplaying. I think the time I started roleplaying less was actually the time I started to be around PC more. Apparently I sucked at doing both and so I had to give up one to do the other. xD;

The longest I was inactive here was around 5 days when I went to computer camp (PC was blocked there). I also became inactive there for another 5 days because I had to go back to that same camp for another week.

About six months, because I couldn't stand some of the staff. The roster has changed a lot since, mostly for the better.

Yes, though I've since made a note to stay away from CQ&F unless I have my own feedback/queries to submit.

I'll be surprised if anyone tops this: my longest hiatus was 5 and a half years. I just got sick of this place and up and left. The forum atmosphere was much worse than it is now, I didn't like staffing, I was kinda growing out of Pokemon: a perfect storm for leaving really, really bitterly. Apart from about two or three look-ins in the intervening period, it was surprisingly easy to stay away.
But, I'm back. Yay! In terms of activity, I'm probably slightly less active than I used to be (at one point, I think I was averaging about 15-20 posts per day! Crazy!) but I'm not a hermit or anything, am I?

Well over my three years here I've had numerous periods of inactivity, from days to months.
If I'm remembering right my longest period of inactivity was around half a year back sometime in 2010, I was just generally bored and had nothing to do on PC - I came back in late 2010 for a few months before leaving again in February 2011 until late April;early May. I don't think I've been as active since my inactivity just because all the stuff I used to do isn't really around anymore. I post every now and then but I'm not as active as I used too be~

When I go inactive, it's only usually for a months time. I actually just got back from being inactive for a month. When I go inactive its either because I have irl things I need to handle, or I get tired of the forum for a bit.
