The reason why I compare it to Code Geass is... Shu's new power is called "The King's Power" or "The Power of the King". And what was Lelouch's power called? "The Power of the King". They both get it from some strange girl that they might have met before. They're both live in a war torn type setting. You have the military using mechas. Both are part of a resistance (I know Shu didn't "join" yet but he will). In both you have the main pilot of the resistance in this nice red plugsuit. And so on.

I'm not saying it's not like other shows. But the first thing that came to mind was Code Geass. And lots of people are also getting that feeling.

Yeah, it certainly has multiple parallels to Geass in terms of premise, it's just that Geass is so much more than the sum of its parts as we all know. It's going to have to give me the same FABULOUS TRAINWRECK feeling that Geass did before I'm willing to compare the two, but that's just me. It also might affect my opinion that I haven't seen episode 2 yet, which I'm about to do right now XD

My prob with Code Geass was R2. The first season I liked, but by the end of R2 it wasn't something I liked.
I'm not saying Guilty Crown will go that way, I'm just saying I see Code Geass when I watch Guilty Crown.

In other news... David and finished up Tiger & Bunny tonight. That was a really good show and I wish I hadn't waited so long to watch it.
Like always David and I link each other to random stuff and he linked me to the opening. I said "I've been meaning to watch that", he said he's also thought about watching it so we were both like "K... download it and we can watch it.". My biggest prob with the show was.... all the Pepsi. XD
I didn't think I'd like a show about super heroes but it turned out very nicely and had a good story too.

I'm just hoping that they play the school side of the story out well. Drawing on not wanting Geass parallels, I really don't want the school side of this series to be like Geass, where it's extremely crazy and hyperactive because it cuts into any seriousness introduced by the rebellion side too much.

Also dreading what happens to Ayase just because she was one of those characters that I liked nearly immediately, and that she has animation in the final sequence of the OP, which is painting a giant death flag on her in my mind ><

After spending a few days wondering just what the hell Guilty Crown is, I finally decided to do a bit of research on it. The fact that its lead writers were previously involved with Code Geass threw up several warning flags for me, though judging from the plot synopses I've seen on Wikipedia and ANN, I'd say the show has more to do with globalist conspiracy theories than with imperialism. Code Geass has Japan getting taken over by an alternate-universe United Kingdom for the sake of natural resources, whereas this show apparently has Japan getting taken over by a thinly-veiled United Nations in the wake of a catastrophic pandemic. I always thought New World Order conspiracy theories were an exclusively American phenomenon, though given how crazy the Japanese right wing can be, I wouldn't be too surprised if there were individuals and groups that share similar views.

Major S1, are you freaking serious? I don't usually care about romantic parings but
Spoiler:
Meh, I guess it can't be helped. Any of you guys seen this show?

NOOOOOOOO! Natsume Brothers (21)! just aired it's last radio show! Now I have to wait til the anime gets out before it goes back up orz

Also, if it's baseball, it's gotta be Touch

Nothing about R2's lack of believable plot keeps the entire Code Geass franchise from being one of the most entertaining in the history of anime. It's some of the greatest fun there is, so when I try to downplay Guilty Crown's similarities to Geass, it's not because I have a problem with Geass XD We can only hope that GC reaches the heights of entertainment that Geass did.

I don't normally watch sports anime but if anyone is looking for a baseball series, I kind of liked Taisho Yakyuu Musume. Came for the historical setting, stayed for the baseball. It's almost entirely devoid of moe pander, too, which is rare for an anime with an all-girl cast in the past few years.

Woo, full Mirai Nikki op is out and sounding pretty great.

Still not started GC and am getting a bit behind on most things atm. Oh well.

At least it's not Ali Project
Music by YUI. All I need :p I sure am easy to please XD

I never got around to the manga but I'm 100% committed to watching Mirai Nikki all the way through. I loves me some yanderes and Yuno made the best yandere face EVER at the end of episode 1. It's worth watching the rest just to get more stuff like that.

Entertainment value puts Yuno up there with the best, design is pretty nice as well. I did enjoy the manga and the first few episodes of the anime are very promising.

I've seen a few parody Yunoface pics about, would certainly be a decent meme if it ever happens.

Yuno is definitely the yandere of yanderes. Don't really recall any other characters that's as obsessed as her. Also the fact that they get into some backstory that's not directly in the manga is nice as well

danbooru's calling the meme "yandere trance" though it's mostly touhou stuff right now. I wonder if there's a template for making these things on pixiv.

Unfortunately I haven't had the chance to watch Mirai Nikki yet (why are my Broadband speeds so crappy? ;_;) but I have read a lot of the manga. I haven't finished it but my friend says that the ending is pretty... bad. I really hope this isn't the case. Speaking of the manga, I need to re-read that too. I stopped reading at a pretty weird point seeing how it's probably one of the most crazy/amazing moments in the manga:

Pretty big spoilers for Mirai Nikki, you've been warned!
Spoiler:

In terms of loyalty, devotion and williness to act on that I can't think of many that even get near her. Misa from Desu Noto is probably closest, perhaps.

I saw a really good Hidamari crossover yesterday, can't find it now though. D:

Not having luck finding it on Pixiv, though I did find the tag for the meme: 恍惚のヤンデレポーズ (I guess technically NSFW for a pic or two, though I'm 99.9% sure that pixiv disables R-18 content by default.)

There's a template in there too, I just got a Wacom Bamboo tablet so I should try and take it for a spin.

Yes, you have to enable it in the options. It should be pretty easy to find as it effectively says "Enable R-18?" with a Yes/No option. Settings can be accessed via the cog symbol.
(if you want to be flooded with R-18 images, that is. Main page will still remain R-18 free. It just includes R-18 images in searches and allows access the R-18 main page)
(Also, R-18G is guro so you can choose not to include that)

That's what I thought. I've....well....had it enabled on my account for a long time so honestly I wasn't sure if Pixiv was still like it was concerning explicit content when I first started using the side XD

(not that I recommend unblocking R-18 stuff for anyone who wants to keep their sanity. People make fun of Deviantart and all, but virtually EVERY page for some tags is a hideous assault on the senses on Pixiv *shudder*)

I must say. For the large amount of "OMG this is gonna suck now orz" moment that I had at the end of Guilty Crown ep 2, episode 3 was actually pretty well executed.

I'm still sitting on the fence with regards to this show, and I still have the impression that it's just NWO conspiracy theory claptrap with giant robots. Mind explaining how it was well executed, and would it be sufficient to sway an undecided person like myself into watching the series?

Come to think of it, Madoka also took three episodes before finally hitting its stride, and we all know just how well it turned out. Who knows, really.
