I joined PC back in 2004. I found it through Google really, I was merely looking for a place to hang out. I lurked for about a day or two and joined.
In 2004, PC was a lot friendlier than it is now, and a lot more laid back. The rules and such now are the same, for the most part, but most of the staff members are far more strict and high strung than they were back then. Honestly, I can count on my fingers with one hand, the number of staff members I can approach with a problem and get a decent solution or answer pretty damn quick...which is somewhat sad...because I have to skip the COC to get things addressed properly because the COC is so mired in politics that it hinders growth. x3
Yeah, the staff is stable, but also stagnant...I wish admins still had power to get hands on and solve a problem without being needlessly reversed or challenged. Personally, I think there needs to be a review of all staff and some jobs reassigned...we don't need as many senior admins as we have now.
Anyways despite all my grumbling and grouching about the status quo, which I've no respect for the current instance of, I do feel that PC is still doing quite well. After all, I'd have left if I had felt this wasn't the case. Naturally I frequent OVP, and OT when I've the time to do so, but with college looming, I think I'll probably be inactive again. xD
Amazingly, people still fail to notice how much I've matured over the years because they're too damn busy getting their panties in a twist over my audacity. I'm bold, get used to it. xD (All the cool, mature people do.)
Of course, the current generation of staff doesn't realize it because they don't know me too well, they make their judgments based upon how I fight for what I feel is the "True Spirit of PC." Naturally, since the beginning of 2010, most of the problematic staff members have either departed or calmed down and matured greatly. Even Luke had replied civilly to me when I last pointed out to him that not every noob with a troll-ish name isn't Mobile Tsk. That in itself shows progress, which means that my hope that PC would be golden again, like it was when I first joined...was not wasted.
While I have had my fair share of inactive spells, that doesn't mean that I'm not paying attention to the state of things when I do log in. I may not be extremely social, but I do get around PC quite more than one might think.
Upon close examination of my posts over the last 3 years, you will never find low quality posts outside of OT. While I may be incorrect at times, I always pay close attention to detail when composing my posts. I put thought into them, and really express how I feel about a topic. I never did claim to be all-knowing or well educated in anything, but you can be sure that when I chime in on something, I'm fairly confident in my knowledge of a topic.
With all that being said, I have never regretted joining PC. I never will regret it.
