6th Gen Klefki

Not a big fan of klefki... i think it was just a filler and pointless to make a pair of keys a fairy type.

Klefki is like, so amazing. Prankster is an ability that can pretty much annoy the heck out of you in competitive play and also it has a pretty nice type combination (Steel/Fairy) that only has 2 weaknesses, but also 2 immunities and a whopping 9 resistances. Definitely nothing to write home about.

Not to mention its Pokedex entries are so hilarious! Jiggling its keys to threaten foes is like one of the coolest defense methods I've ever seen in a Pokedex entry.

Pretty much what Hikamaru said - this thing is far more devastating than it looks. I used it in my very first play of X, but that was before I knew how amazing Prankster was (I stuffed attacking moves on it, haha). Then in my second X Wedlocke (which I disallowed bag items in), near the end of the game I threw it on my team after Lysandre's Mega Gyarados killed one of my team members, and it was awesome, and with Calm Mind + Substitute, saved us in quite a few important fights (like Trevor on Route 19, Calem in Victory Road, and Drasna to name a few).

Abilities aside though... they surely could have come up with a better story than THAT. I sincerely doubt any Pokémon in its habitat would be spooked by the jingling of keys. Could you imagine a ghost Pokémon running from the sound of jingling keys? A dark?

What Hikamaru said... Klefki is awesome! :)

Imagine reaching for your car keys in your purse or pocket or something and all of a sudden seeing a dazzling light... then waking up and finding every key you have gone.

'It sometimes swaps itself with regular key-chains.'

Hilarity ensues.

"Duuuude, why are you using that Pokemon to unlock your car???"
I could see this joke being used in the anime.

Bonnie: "Uh, Ash? THAT won't unlock the chest!" (or door)
Ash: "What? Oh...sorry about that!" Sheepish look.

I don't know, man. If a set of floating keys ever came into my room jingling, I know I'd be pretty scared.

I have to wonder though, why so much hate for the thing? I haven't seen a Pokemon get hated this much since Vanilluxe and Trubbish last gen.

Reminds me of Trubbish/Vanillish hate, too. Didn't make sense then, doesn't make sense now. There's a long history of Pokemon based on objects - Geodude, Voltorb, Togepi, Unown, Seedot, Chimecho, Bronzong - yet somehow "they're running out of ideas"? Unown are just letters that float around, for Pete's sake; if Klefki's design indicates a lack of creativity, what do these others show? By that logic, GF were talentless hacks from the start.

Personally, I find Klefki neat. But Trubbish is way more adorable.

I never said this is indicative of them running out of ideas. You know, people can hate or dislike things for different reasons, right?

I wasn't referring to you specifically, but the general attitude about Trubbish and Vanillish and now Klefki being "terrible pokemon".

You know, people can hate or dislike things for different reasons, right?
Of course. And that means I'm free to express my dislike as well: I think it's lame to hate on these silly little guys.

You missed my point. I said people can hate things for DIFFERENT reasons, something your post seemed to fail to recognize. Some hate the thing for its ridiculous design, others may hate it because it reminds them of their grandmother's feet. I said nothing about opinions.

You're walking through Route 15 having acquired your newly mint Fairy Badge. The sweet smell of autumn wisps through the leaves and your confidence flows. You feel free.

A slight chill catches you. Darker clouds and colors mix into the scene. Your Delphox lights its wand to provide light in this foreboding darkness. As you turn another corner, a crumbled hotel is seen in the distance. There are trainers all flattened under the leaves. Are they waiting for something? Hiding? Your confidence dims.

There's a shake to your left.

Then your right.

You can't feel where this new sound is coming from, but it sounds like...

keys.

Reminding you of everthing you've ever lost. That favorite sock. Favorite hat. This ringing continues until you're filled with this sense of dread that you will lose everything.

The jingling sound of some far-off key chain continues. You feel yourself slow, and you lie down. Soon you cover yourself with leaves to remind yourself of home, of the good old days when you would pile leaves and jump in them. You want to feel again, to feel warm, to feel home.

Yet you know, deep down, you own nothing. You are alone.

You can't find your keys.

The master has added yours to his collection.

And there you are, hiding under the leaves like all the other ace trainers before you. Unable to cope with your own loss. Hoping, desperately, that someone will find you and pull you out of your own darkness.

tl;dr Klefki is awesome if you use your imagination.
