We hadn't gone for walks with Watson and Tess because Watson was getting over his surgery, so last night was the first night we went for the full walk. One of the roads in the neighbourhood leads down to what used to be a dead end road with woods and a creek and then more woods, but a couple years ago they cut much of the woods down and put up a road and houses. There are still some woods off to the side of the road and at the end of it, but nowhere near as much as there used to be. The people living in most of the houses have these stupid lights on their garages and porches that are way beyond being unnecessarily bright, so the parts where it's been darker have been somewhat safe, (mostly) quiet places for wildlife. On the walk we got to the last house on the side that still has some woods on it, and discovered they've put more extremely bright lights on there, one near the top and one on the side facing right into the woods. Light pollution strikes again.

It would be nice to have the deluminator from Harry Potter...
