I've never actually seen it! Stuff like that has never really been my sort of thing, and right now I'm still not motivated to watch it. I'm only just getting into legal dramas. xD

you should give it a shot! don't knock it til ya try it is what they always say.

also, what kinda legal dramas we talkin about here? my gf's been telling me to watch suits but, like you, i haven't been motivated to get into a series like that yet.

I liked it, even though it didn't quite match the quality of Frasier at the time, in my opinion.

I still like watching it now, but there's some pretty cringey stuff that hasn't aged well. There are plenty of casual isms and quite a bit of homophobia and transphobia. Even the writers regret a lot of it.

Still fun to watch, just a product of its time.

very true on the homophobic/transphobic things you said, and i couldn't have said it better myself. it was, in a way, reflecting how society was generally like in the day, sort of the closest thing we can get to a time capsule to view the 90s way of mainstream thinking. the world was different, and the people were different. we live in a society. bottom text.

Well, it's not like I'm turned off by it or anything, I'm just...not interested right now. xD

And yeah, I've been watching Suits for the last few months, on the final season now. It started off pretty slow, and the firm changes hands waaaaay too many times, but the core cast is endearing and the dialogue is snappy, so I've been enjoying it! I've watched a bit of Law and Order too. Before this I was watching Prison Break, and next I might watch either The Office or Bones, depending on my mood. I've seen a little of the latter before and I'm quite fond of David Boreanaz too so it'll probably be that, since Supernatural is no longer free on Prime >.>

huh, is there any flanderization that happens as the season progresses? or do they stay great characters for the long run? i've yet to find someone in the wild who hasn't watched The Office yet damn (unless you're talking about the 2001 British version xD), but i can vouch for it as well worth your time. easy to digest, balances funny and serious well, great characters and developments, and the jokes are almost always a hit (for me and my gf anyway when we binged it. WAY better than Friends & HIMYM in every way). has nasty flanderization though as the seasons progress, and starts to go downhill by S7 or so, but overall, still good.

heard of all these other shows except for Bones. haven't watched any of them because i tend to prefer comedy over drama lol. i'm maturing though so my tastes will deffo change overtime.

Ssssssort of...although maybe that's just me disliking Donna and Mike, who are both mostly defined by one or two traits and don't really change that much. Mike is supposed to go through a "coming of age" kind of story but tbh he's always just the guy with the photographic memory. But Louis and Harvey more than make up for it, and the new characters the show introduces all go through some good character arcs and feel like part of the cast, rather than just tacked-on extras. A lot of characters don't really stick around for long enough/are introduced soon enough to really be subjected to it.

I've found my tastes have changed a lot over time as well...I only ever used to watch sci-fi, when I watched anything at all. Or anime. Now I'm watching less anime and more everything else. xD

thanks for the heads up! i'll keep my eyes on Louis and Harvey and see just how good they are haha. how many characters are there that actually stick around all throughout? hopefully not too many to have a hard time keeping track of them all? i'll take your word on them all equally getting their spotlight, bcs it sucks to have someone be left out for the sake of focusing on someone else.

tbh i found that youtube and streams have ruined my tastes for watching things. i used to be an avid watcher of cartoons, sitcoms, action films, etc. but ever since i've gotten addicted to watching gaming videos and streams n stuff, i've never found time for story-driven media anymore. i've been telling myself to watch more black mirror since fricking 2018 and to this day i've only gotten to like 3 episodes ugh.

anime though. i genuinely don't know why, but i've given it so many chances over and over again... yet i can never get into it :< worse part is i can't exactly pinpoint as to why.

From the beginning of the show to the end, just Harvey, Donna, and Louis. A couple of recurring characters get promoted to regulars as well, which is nice. The hardest thing is keeping track of what the firm's name is supposed to be at any given moment. xD

I could never watch people playing games, haha. I need to be playing them myself to enjoy them! I've yet to find a personality I'd want to watch playing games for hours =x

Anime is difficult...honestly there isn't much of it worth watching these days I don't think. It's mostly light novel or manga promotion material, meaning it never gets finished. I find dubs aren't what they used to be and subs can't hold my attention for very long unless the show is VERY good, which outside of a couple of franchises, it isn't. I mostly just watch it with my partner these days, because I don't think I could spend all my attention on it.

duly noted! also lmao is that a normal irl thing for firms to constantly change names? must be really bad for business no?

yeah i dunno, i also have more fun playing games, but watching especially the pro players do it... so much more fluidity and awareness than i ever will lol.

wait, most animes never get finished? shoot that's a turn off as i'm a fan of closure. does the subs not dubs rule still hold to this day?

it doesn't help that my gf isn't interested in anime either, and we spend most of our time watching musicals and comedy flicks bcs we're suckers for good singers and feel good moments. she's also sorta into horror, but she watches that with her other friends bcs i'm way too much of a scaredy cat to even watch trailers for those lmao.

I don't really watch a lot of television or anime on my own anymore compared to just event a few years ago. I still read manga sometimes.. Or really more webcomics from North America and Korea.

i had a slight dyslexic moment and thought you wrote "webcomics from North Korea". would love to see what those would be like.

I'm backlogging this thread and I'm glad the conversation about Friends came to a natural end before I showed up, I'd have nothing to add.

On this topic though, personally I don't really watch TV or movies ever, just the occasional anime and I've been inconsistent on watching them (with one exception), been trying to fix that and be more consistent. Manga is that kind of thing where i'll either read 2 chapters and stop, or I'll binge-read 200 chapters over a couple days, there's basically no inbetween.

I've noticed there's been a lot more webcomics from Korea popping into view. I'm not a big webcomic girl but I think it's cool seeing that, and I think with things like K-Pop and all this stuff popping up, there's a lot of free room for people interested in that kind of thing to find what they're after.

I came in here to snatch victory from whoever was last, but actually what you said made me remember I woke up today thinking I'd take a shower and make a large breakfast for myself. Yes I did, yes it was wonderful, and yes I'm proud.

happy for you! how large we talkin tho? i'm somewhat cravin breakfast foods rn but it's evening. help.
It wasn't massive or anything but the amount I made fit on two small plates and in a bowl. It took me a while to get through, but maybe just cause I'd been eating slow today. That or the videos I've been watching take up more of my attention.~

Maybe I'll do the same tomorrow. It was pretty great.

Also breakfast foods are great to have during the evening, don't let that stop you.~

Hey research says it's a lot healthier to eat slower bcs you'll realize you're full before you stuff yourself silly. Don't be like me lmao.

Yeah no I'm definitely having eggs and sausages tonight and no one can stop me!

That's actually really good to know, thanks!
