Thanks all for the support.

Transgendered isn't just about whether or not you have had the surgery. It's more about if you feel you are in the wrong body etc. and transgendered people prefer to live as the gender they feel they are more comfortable as, regardless of surgery.
Pretty much this. Also, not everyone wants to (or can afford) to have surgery. Some are happy with hormone treatment and a change in wardrobe, or even less than that. It's all to do with how you feel. It's really not much different from a gay person who hasn't had a relationship yet. You wouldn't say they're not gay because of something they hadn't done.

I guess so. So is transgendered the same as intersexed?
Short answer: no.

Long answer: no, however... Intersexed people are those whose bodies don't fall into the "normal" female or male categories anatomically or genetically whereas transgendered people have physically typical bodies like 99.9% of people. Intersexed is being or feeling neither discretely male or female. The more you read into the subject and the more you talk to people the more confusing it gets because there are always exceptions and exceptions to the exceptions. Being transgendered is feeling you're in the wrong kind of body, but because there's no magical way of fixing this a lot of transgendered people end up physically somewhere between male and female, which is kind of like being intersexed, even though most of us would probably go 100% if it weren't for real world limitations.

You don't know their circumstances. They could have an LGBT relative or close friend who is having a hard time and want info on how to support them. Or the heterosexual could be questioning their sexuality.

The thing is, is that as I said before I'm sure a lot of these clubs would allow straight supporters.

It's not meant to be some exclusive club for non straight/cisgendered people. It's meant to be a support group.

I'm gay, but I'm not that obvious about it anymore. I used to be a super flaming flamboyant rainbow, but now people usually think I'm straight unless I say otherwise lol :(

My school doesn't have a support club or anything... then again it is a conservative Episcopalian private school with only 300 students in the high school, so I'm not surprised XD

But yeah, finding an open gay person where I live is about as common as finding a snowstorm in the Bahamas

I don't believe in being a flamboyant gay guy. It adds to the stereotype -_-... I really, really think that if society's image of gay guys wasn't that we're all flaming ******s who talk like valley girls and wear womens' clothing that we'd be more widely accepted. I'm not knocking gays who act this way, but it's true.

Yeah... it would be the same for me. Even to the extent that I wouldn't be the type to go to a gay pride parade. It's not because I don't appreciate who I am (not that at all), but rather I'm not the type of person to go to one of those things, not that there was anything wrong with them to begin with.

So hermaphrodites would be considered intersexed?

Yeah, there is flambuoyant gay guys and butch lesbian girls.
Where do you think the steryotype erupted from?

However, people let that get in thier way, and say all of gays are like that.
It's not true, but they believe it to be so.

Hey, even my mother is a victim of this kind of thought, and now, she doesn't understand anything I'm going through.

Don't let it freak you out, sir. Are you flaming? no. Then don't worry about it.

I'm probably a flamer, and I don't really care. If my definition of fun is being a flamer, so be it.

I know someone at my school that has that kind of thought.
He flames to the point of wearing makeup, but when people say something, he's like "I don't care what people think of me. It's me."

And, you really have to give him credit for that.
Very few people can do that.

And before anyone asks, cisgendered is just the opposite of transgendered.

I am totally Cisgendered :D

If the gay pride parade wasn't filled with pixies of men and masculine women, I'm sure you would change your mind. but hey, they're proud to be gay. :/

Dad says being a homosexual is gay and wrong.

AWAY WITH YOU, TROLL! *throws acid*

Seriously, I don't get how trolls can get a feeling of pleasure from pissing everyone else off. >:/

Oh yeah, and nice use of stating the obvious, too. ("homosexual is gay" Well, NO! Really?)

Eh. Trolls are idiots. They need to stay under their bridges. We ain't no billy goats gruff.

And I agree with this being a way to express homophobia/self-denial. I so totally agree. (:

Well homosexual =/= gay.
Not all of them are gay evidenced by the higher suicide rate amongst them.

i don't think you've noticed this, but i think most of the people here don't really care. its not wrong :P i have a gay uncle and i treat him like a normal person.

i should stop now before i flame the f*$% out of you :D.

i THINK im straight... or maybe just Bi-Curious. i can't say i'm BI though because i've never actually had any relations with the opposite sex..
..........or maybe its just my raging hormones since im going through puberty :3

for now, im sexually confused/straight i guess... or does that not make any sense...?

Don't worry, that makes perfect sense! Bi-curious is a funny little thing to play around with, as I used to think that's all I was, until my first experience with the opposite sex, when I realised for certain that I was definately bisexual.

However things work out for you, I do hope you find your way out of the forest of confusion.

(Damn, I'm full of metaphors today. First goats, now forests... :D )
