Lost and stolen mail

I think many of us have had things go missing before. It can happen to anybody at all times of the year, but it's especially common no with the holiday season's high volume of mail. It's easy for something to get lost in the endless sea of cards and gifts going every which way. In the chaos Items get overlooked and left behind at facilities, delivered to wrong addresses or just stolen.

I decided to make this thread as a memorial to the copy of Violet I ordered earlier this month that never made it to me. It was guaranteed to arrive several days ago, but that didn't happen. The tracking doesn't show my package ever leaving the distribution center in the state it was going to ship from. The seller who sent it is trying to find out more information, and see if my order can be located and still delivered, but I'd be surprised if it re-surface.

As I have my moment of silence for a missing cart I thought I would ask what items of interest you lost in the mail? There's room on this grave mound to mourn all the mail that never reached it's final destination.

People stealing Amazon packages comes to mind.
We had a movie stolen at the apt.

When I bought Elden Ring I originally got it physical. It never showed up when it was supposed to and I received no information on its status, and after a week/week and a half I was just like "fuck it I'll just do digital, at least that way I know I'm getting it". So somewhere out there, there may be a copy of Elden Ring just laying around somewhere, or who knows, maybe someone else got that copy lol.

I'll join you all in a minute of silence for your missing/stolen packages.

I'll also take this chance to commend the mail worker that always delivers our orders from MercadoLibre, because he calls us before he arrives and is always willing to deliver packages at our door (unlike some other mail guys who had me walk to the parking lot). God bless him.

I've definitely never had any packages stolen from me, but my brother had a package our neighbor literally threw somewhere because she hates us, or something and our other neighbor had to go get it from the bush she threw it in... Very rude!

I am glad the next package I'm getting (I missed it this morning because I was half asleep) has to be signed for because it's a new phone and I recall hearing something about a neighbor once stealing one of those around here. Definitely going to have to keep an ear on the door on Tuesday.

The Violet copy I originally had pre-purchased disappeared for two weeks and then suddenly arrived anyway after I already asked for a new copy to be sent instead... which only took 2 days to get here. Sent the delayed one back.

As for something that never actually arrived... I think it was a GBA game, like many years ago by now. The sender was just like 'we shipped it, not our fault if it didn't arrive' and refused to refund it. This is the only one I remember never arriving at all and customer service was definitely not very important back then.

I have definitely had things stolen, and not only lost. Not this year perhaps, can't say for sure what became of my package, but it has happened. Once an Amazon order came for me, but with literally nothing inside the packaging. It was not only empty, the bag wasn't even sealed, it was split wide open. Fortunately they were things that could be replaced easily, it was like some towels and other supplies, and I was refunded by Amazon when I told them what happened.

I also once was victim of ebay fraud a few years ago that involved an empty box, but that was a different situation, because in that case it was a scam where the seller didn't really send me a package, rather than goods getting lost or stolen by somebody. In any case I was refunded by Ebay, and the seller was suspended-- they had conned several people with their auctions for rare dolls.
