This has been debated over quite enough hasn't it? To be completely frank I am sick of it.
The biggest problem here is crappy GBA hacks that have little to no hacking done being more popular than GBC hacks right? I'm not just speaking to GBC hackers when I say this but if the sole reason you are hacking is to gain popularity do something else. Do not moan or whine about it and do not post your crappy generic hacks here.
Who the hell cares if a GBA hack gets 20 replies from people who have just registered an account? I would trade in all those noobish replies on my hacks thread for one single reply from someone who's opinion actually matters to me, someone who I respect.
I used to get really annoyed if I posted an update and got zero replies but now I don't even remember why. After I finish my hack what then? Will people remember me forever because of my hack? No, of course not, I'd be lucky if they remembered my username a month after playing it. Once my hack is done the best I can hope for is a couple thousand people playing through it once, getting a few replies in my thread and then its over. I don't hold any misconceptions that people will remember it 10 years from now.
People should also pay more attention to hacks that are innovative. Hacks that thrive on the limitations that the different platforms have and use it to their advantage to create something no one has done before.
If all you care about is popularity go make a 493 D/P/Pt rom edit with a new E4.
