    *believes that PC as a whole should decide if MOTM should stay or not*


    EDIT: *realizes that he forgot to mention "yes" is for MOTM to stay, while "no" is for MOTM to go*
    *thinks of a list of pros and cons for MOTM...*

    Pros/ideas supporting MOTM (voting "yes" for the poll):
    -a fun monthly event to look forward to
    -will not hurt the feelings of members who got no votes, as all members will eventually get votes provided that they are patient and decides to take baby steps to work his/her way up the PC voting ladder
    -just because there's no votes for you, doesn't mean that you're not accepted

    Cons/ideas against MOTM (voting "no" for the poll):
    -may hurt the feelings of members who got no votes... the voting categories are all an indirect way of saying "all but these guys suck"
    -a popularity contest, which is detestable
    -MOTM has lost its meanings... members no longer truly vote from pure honesty but just stuff in name of friends for every category possible

    *thinks that everyone should pitch in their idea about MOTM*

    *thinks that if MOTM is to go, then MOTM will end by the end of February... since February MOTM is the 2nd anniversary for MOTM, it sounds like a good time to end if we're ending it*

    I don't really care. I rarely get any votes but it doesn't bother me because I already know hardly anyone pays me any attention (except for a few people like Kairi, Moonlight, and Vito)
     
    Well, I think it should stay, cause...like me, when I first joined, I hardly got any votes from the MotM. But it was part of the MotM that made me work harder to the top. ;p And I vote for people who I think really deserves it, regardless of friendship or whatever.
     
    Its cool.. but.

    I thought MOTM is a interesting and fun way to interact with other members, but like you said frostweaver it does hint at it being one of those popularity contests. On top of that most members would just add their friends name to the list categories rather than carefully choose different members based on merit.
    So, I'm sad to say it should go, or at least reform.

    EDIT: Your poll question is very... vague. Should I say "yes" it should stay? Or "yes" it should go? :P

    Any way it dont matter to me, some members will feel hurt that thay didnt win something, I dont think I win best Mod any more but I dont care. MOTM is just for fun nothing more then that. Just like the pair-up thread is just for fun.
     
    Yes, without it... PC would be a boring place.
     
    I never vote in the MOTM so it really douesn't effect me in anyway, and Blaine is the only one who votes for me and that dosen't bother me in the least either XD, I'm not really here to be a "popular" person but to post and mod.
     
    Well, you know, the members that never get voted for, or feel unwanted, hardly even post at all.So, if they made even just a small effort to post a bit more, then people would know them, and evcentually become popular.So, with that said, I vote yes, it should stay
     
    Yeah! My situation exactly DragonTrainer! MOTM is fun! Hehe.... It's one way to let others know that they're wanted here on PC without them making those "maybe I should leave" threads......
     
    Nah, if they don't know the member yet, so they can't feel unwanted.
     
    Popularity, smochularity. I say MOTM stays, if people are gonna be crybabies because they did not get votes, then let em cry.

    MOTM is pretty fun, and yes, its VERY VERY VERY annoying when people vote for the same person in every category.. Gee, vote for someone else, people!!!! >_<;;;

    I think MOTM is cool, leave it there! I never win anything, but I vote every month and it's just a fun thing that brings us all closer together! XD
     
    I'm somewhere between no and neutral.
    I do agree that it is fun, but not everyone here on PC regularly visit Other Chat, so those people that I know who are more based in other forums are unlikely to get voted (eg Sandra's Chargon who was The Dragon Protector [I think] or Pika2) or be able to vote.
    If it is to stay it should be extented to appear on all forums just like those announcements.
