We all have our identities on PC. For the most part, our username is what we go by online, and shows everyone a little about ourselves. That being said, our usernames are usually not our real names though they can be!.

That being said, how comfortable are you with sharing your real name on a forum like PC? Is there a reason as to why you are or aren't comfortable with sharing?

Personally, I feel like I'm known more by my actual nickname, Dipu, than my username Vertigo, or my old one Bloodex. I'm open about it because I feel a more personal bond between the people here when I use my real name, and I always try to call other people by theirs, if they're willing to share. =D

I was nervous about revealing my first name when I first joined. I originally only shared it with one user and it stayed that way for weeks. I quickly decided though that you can't really get anything from a first name and then I told everyone. I am now to the point where I want to be called my real name which is Chase rather than Jelli which people have always known me as.

As far as forums go, I usually get referred as either Hikari (blame my username hehehe) or in some cases, by my real name Nichole. I'm alright with either, depends on how well you've known my identities for. Just don't spell my real name wrong okay because it bugs me when that happens. There's sometimes a rare chance I get called "Dai" or even "Daikinky" (as a result of the username I have on Showdown) but they don't get seen a lot.

I'm okay with sharing my real name on forums, particularly those members who seem to have known it for a while now and the fact it has an unusual spelling to the variant they're most used to.

Obviously I'm comfortable using my real name as my username :P Hell, I'm more comfortable using my real name here than on Facebook or Twitter. I highly doubt anyone from PC is going to come stalk me or anything like that. Can't say the same about some of the people on Facebook.

Overall, I'm not too concerned with people knowing who I am. I actually prefer to be on a first name/real name basis with people. It's easier to build a friendship with people when you're not using aliases.

I started out using a fake name (Angel) because I received a disgusting PM some 7 years ago on another forum. That made me quite paranoid about strangers and creeps on the internet. Although I moved on from that particular alias, I still prefer to be called by my online alias (blade, others being avelaine, alice, etc) rather than my real name. I rarely know who's on the 'other end' or who's watching my messages. Also, I don't like reading my own name in a conversation because I think my computer is talking to me or maybe I'm talking to myself since I read/say things in my head, derp.

I don't really care about using my real name. It's not like it's a secret. Elixir sounded nice for a username, but I don't mind if people call me by real name, Lauren. I have faith in people not to stalk me. If I gave out my last name, then there would be a potential security problem, but I'm fine with my first name being used.

I am only ok with revealing my first name "Kerri" as I do not how if people are who they say they are.

I don't really care what people refer to me as, tbh. Some shorten my username to Mori, and others just use a name (Renée or Cera).

The only thing that irks me is when they use my full first name, it's incredibly awkward >_<

No one here or on the battle server knows my real name and tbh i want to keep it that way.

i think this name is cool, and i am not all that interested in bringing my personal life into my online one other than fb ie :P

It took me years to find a suitable alias, OK? But I still like it when someone calls me Mark… I'm a bit weird that way.
I only like it when people who're my close friends call me that tbh.

Obviously I'm not too concerned about ruining my identity, either. Where I live, I don't think anyone will have the time to fly to over here, get a visa, and then get lost in the mishaps of my city, just to knock at my door, gasping, clothes ruined, muddy, and tired, and then take up a knife and smile and say "I'm a stalker!".

I was a bit iffy on revealing my name online at first, but once I've seen more people use their actual name, I started to do it myself. Nowadays, if people who are close to me don't call me by my name, it just doesn't feel right. It feels as if I don't know them at all.

I find it easier to get along with people if they refer to me by my real name, Ashley, rather than any of my user names.

I barely told anyone here on PC my real name, i think only 2 or 3 persons do know it haha.
I'd like to keep my real name hidden for personal reasons, unless you really wanna know i may consider PM'ing it... and that may be a huge IF xD

I'm comfortable with people knowing my first name , but last name not so much. I think a good amount of people know that my real name is Aaron here and I don't mind being called Aaron on PC or other forums. In fact, I prefer it more , especially if you've known me for a while, if people call me Aaron over AWsquared. It's a bit weird if you've only know me for a short period of time though (say about a week-a month) to call me by my real name. But calling me by my username feels a bit too formal to me. I don't know why. As long as it's just my first name, I'm fine with it.

If I was asked this 4 years ago when I first joined PC I would've been hesitant to reveal my first name. Now not so much, I honestly wouldn't mind if anyone knew my real name is Wesley. No one really calls me Wesley irl though, it's either Wes or Weso(for some reason) so getting called by my actual first name rather than my nicknames would take some time to get used to but as far as getting called by my first name here on PC I wouldn't actually care.

I don't really have a problem with people knowing my first name, but honestly I'd love to have a different one. No one spells it right :(

What an apt title name, since My name happens to be John.

Saying that, I don't care if people call me by my name or by my city of birth (Seattle, that is).

I plop in my name in my username sometimes, like I'm doing here (despite going by Aeon before.) It's generally my secondary alias.

As a general rule I don't like to share my name online, I don't want it to be that easy to find me. That being said there are a couple of people who know at least my first name and so long as they don't use it in public areas of the forums I have no problems being called by it... although if you shorten it I'll rage.

So I'm generally know by my username or by a shortened version of it (GP, Gimme, Pie).
