    Do you tend to use them? Do you like the distribution system for acquiring them, or do you wish they could be obtained in-game without the need for a special event? Also, which ones have you got? Any you're sad you missed?

    I really should have paid more attention to all the mythical Pokémon that were given away this year because I managed to miss the vast majority of them. Not that I'm much of a collector, but hey, they were literally handing the things out. I'm also pretty far away from any of the stores that distribute them, since there aren't many around here :(
     
    Thanks to the 20th anniversary distribution, I could get all of them (well, still waiting for Meloetta) .
    I think this system is just horrible and shouldn't exist. All Pokémon should be catchable in games, end of story.

    Or, alternatively, all event exclusives should be excluded from the National Pokédex (and maybe appear at the very end, unnumbered).

    I just hate when a "complete" Pokédex has a dozen of empty slots here and there, you know. That's all there is.
     
    I did not really pay that much attention to the Events back in the day But during the 4th-5th gen i got some event Pokemon but not all of them I acually don't use event pokemon that often Since they are usually OP and tend to make the game Easy but less fun I don't like the distribution system that much Since you can miss a lot of pokemon if you are not paying that much attention I personally think that the events should've not existed in the first place.
     
    I've gotten all of the ones released so far for the first time this year, I didn't play the last time they were released. Most have gone directly into Pokémon Bank for my living dex but I have kept a couple out as hm slaves/living dex helpers/Dexnav helpers. I can also beat Serena with just Mew and Jirachi with amulet coin and o-powers and replenish my money.


    Mew and Jirachi especially were helpful in Victory Road with exp share when I needed to evolve several hundred pokemon, with Mew's moveset being Surf, Scald, Rock Smash and Shadow Claw
    and Jirachi's moveset is Confusion, Psychic, Flash Cannon and Wish. Wish is mostly just a non-damaging move waster. Obviously when I use Mew I can fight hordes but I tend to run from Druddigon, while with Jirachi I run from hordes and fight Druddigon head on.
     
    I mean I don't really like the system that much, but I understand Game Freak want to make some Pokemon super rare. Even this year, there's been a few that I haven't been able to get, because I live in a random town and kinda far away from the nearest store that has the code. But anyway, mostly, all the mythical Pokemon are super cool!

    Yeah I definitely agree with this, it's a good idea from a business stand point, but it's really inconvenient for some players :(
     
    I wish they distribute them using Mystery Gift either an item or thru serial keys or just the heck commonly receive
     
    I actually like the current methods. I much prefer to head out to GameStop once in a while to snag a few, plus it gets me out the house for a bit. I do hope they manage to utilize QR Codes sometime soon. I feel like it's always been a bit underutilized outside of in-game situations.
     
    I never find myself able to get mythical Pokemon and other wi-fi events. Blame my wi-fi uh, not seeming to like connection with my 3DS.

    That being said though, I'm still considering whether or not Genesect is still worth it to get, although I think it's past that due date so it's probably too late. Oh well.

    Considering this was a 'go to store and ask for code event', there might be a second chance event coming up.

    As for mythicals themselves...I'm not a huge fan, SR for IV's is annoying. I only get them now for good natures since SM apparently lets you max their IV's.

    I will say, I am ecstatic for Magearna and more importantly Marshadow! I've been waiting for a Ghost/Fighting type since Gen 3!
     
    Does anyone use other means or sources such as PkHex or GS/AR codes to capture Pokemon that have a more difficult catch rate? Just curious.

    I may have to turn to some of these means since I do not currently own any..
