Nail Biting

I use to do it, then I found out it ruins your teeth, so then I've stopped biting my nails now.

But I just bit them because I didn't like long nails. Now I just cut them normally. XD

This is probably the one really annoying habit that I actually have. I used to be a lot worse when I was younger, I have it mostly under control now, but it's something I end up doing without realizing at times.

I'm a terrible nail-biter...It's gotten so bad that I bite the skin around my nails when there's no more nail left. It's a really horrible habit that I should try to break. It makes my fingers look horrible ;_____;

I hate it, I've tried everything to stop doing it, usually involving putting nail polish on to discourage me from biting them. I mean, my mom never lets it go, but I might have to resort to wearing gloves 24/7 in order to stop D:

It really depends on what the situation is. If I'm bored, then I'll just do it once for fun.

If I'm in an emtional train wreck, then my fingers would most likely start bleeding.

I have had the habit since I was a kid and I wanted to know what nails tasted like.
Now I find myself biting them at completely random times, mostly when I'm really involved in something or competitive. I also tend to bite at the skin around my nails.​

I only bite them when I see they're getting too long and my nail clippers are nowhere nearby. Never because of nervousness. I sweat profusely and break out in hives instead, which is worse than nail-biting:/

As I look at my nails, I need to trim again - at least my clippers are nearby so I don't have to bite 'em, lol

Yes I bite my nails, though its only a habit. One time when I was four years old (Something like that), I bit my fingernail pretty much halfway and then it started to bleed and it hurt too! So I got a bandage put on it but it still hurt. So, I learned my lesson, never bite them to short XD.

I used to, and stopped for the strangest reason. =P I have a few Tamagotchi virtual pets running now, and the buttons are hard to push, so I have to keep my nails long in order to push the buttons.

As long as I have little pixelated creatures in plastic eggs relying on me, I don't bite my nails.

Chewing on the inside of my cheeks, on the other hand, is an extremely difficult habit for me to break.

After reading the posts in this thread... ew. To the point of bleeding? Just.. oh my God.

I used to as a kid but then I grew out of it. Especially since I looove my long nails. The only time I'll do it is if one is uneven and I'll too lazy to get the scissors and file it later. Surprisngly, the chemical or whatever perscribed to stop children biting their nails never worked on me; I enjoyed the taste... I just got over it purely mentally. :D

I bite my nails out of habit.
I've tried stopping, but it's very hard. X3; I also have an issue with chewing on my lower lip.. very rarely, but I still do it. x_x
