So, which one do you like better? I like netbooks because they are lighter and they are what I use.
Netbooks. Regular laptops are heavy and uncomfortable to use portably. I like that I can carry my netbook in one hand and type with the other while walking. If you want 'power', use a damn desktop.
Not even games, the Atom processors are just horrible in general. The same clock speeds don't compare to the Core 2 series, which is now outdated anyway, as they are just weaker in general. You're much better off with a ULV. They are low-voltage 1.4GHz Core 2 Duos and they crush Atoms, even ignoring the second core. Some of us like to be able to play our games away from home, and don't have desktops that are mobile. And we also like to be able to bring our most important, power-hungry programs with us wherever we go.
I can't see how. Most of the parts are the same between them. The most common parts to die - HDDs and RAM are normal 2.5" and SODIMMS, respectively. The only reasons they'd fail more often are their position in the lower price bracket; and abuse from their ability to be just chucked in bags, etc.Plus, netbooks have an even higher hardware failure rate than laptops, which already have pretty high rates of failure (can't remember where I read this... I just know that I've read it).
