I think it's ok but I don't want them to follow through to the logical endpoint of nothing without that "Netflix Original" logo in its overview being on the platform.
I quite like that they're bringing in a few documentaries (still need to watch Five Came Back and The White Helmets, but Werner Herzog's internet one was interesting) and stand-up specials alongside their scripted programming. They're really going to have to tackle "Netflix bloat" on all their productions though, I think one of the under-mentioned weaknesses of Iron Fist is it only has 1-2 episodes that come in sub-55 minutes. There's always a few episodes of a show where you wish U.S. networks weren't restraining them, and Netflix offering the freedom of extra length is nice, but some of these shows are just getting too long. Sometimes less is more, y'know? Something like Master of None seems to work its freedom quite well, but on others it feels like they're stretching to fill minutes because they can. A lot of the stuff I've watched tends to run out of steam around episode 7/8 as well. So paradoxically I want them to be stricter on their time limits perhaps, but less strict in sticking to the 13-episodes thing for dramas / Marvel as sometimes you feel like the way to go is only 10.
As for what I watch? A lot, favourites are probably Scrotal Recall (refuse to call it by its new name because the original is so good) and Daredevil (because of all the amazing fight scenes most of the problems I outlined in my rant are more forgivable in DD than most others).
Like any conventional broadcaster ironically, despite watching a lot of their stuff I could only think of those two standouts haha.
