I would love to see the option to allow for blank usertitles again. And as mentioned, before the forum was upgraded to vBulletin 3.8.8 awhile back, users had the option to type in " " as their usertitle, and it would be blank with no space between the rank bar and the username, but since then that has been broken. So I'm all for an option if there's no way to fix the blank usertitle trick that used to exist.

Check the reset box and save changes. There are no longer any default titles according with postcount.
What about those on staff though? When checking the box for no usertitles as a staff member, those just reset back to whatever rank of staff they're on. At least for moderators, they do.

I think it happens with all staff members if I'm not mistaken, not just mods.

In fact, in the case with supporters it reverts to "Donator Tier (*)" (with the number of the user's supporter tier) like how in my case if I reset my usertitle it says "Donator Tier 5". It's only normal members who revert to no usertitle when clicking Reset.

How about they just turn user titles into sub ranks like most forums. Make it so that vbulletin gives you a custom user title based on post count or reputation. I am pretty sure we could come up with a good 20 pokemon theme rank names for custom user titles...

If you get 25k post I would consider you to get a "Pokemon Master" Custom User Title or "Pokemon God"...lol

★Symbiosis★ - whilst that's a nice idea, the majority of people here use custom user titles anyway, so a user title ranking system is kind of obsolete. Also, people would always be looking toward the next level and it could lead to spammy posts, etc., to make it up there.

It would also undo the work Audy has just done to make the default blank, for those who wanted the option.

I agree, Many people see that it would lead to people making spam post and so forth but I rather think different. It may make new users to PC want to spam but us older users wouldn't do such a thing. I believe it would in fact help PC weed out the bad seeds of new users who are only here to rack up post count and not contribute to our pokemon community. Its about quality not quantity.

We had default user titles before (source). I assume they were removed because they were never used. Regardless, being able to easily have an empty user title is arguably more useful. One could suggest default user titles with fancy HTML like the staff, then people would be more inclined to use them. However, the staff have been recently given permission to hand out custom HTML user titles as event prizes. If everyone had an alternative to that, it would reduce their value as incentives.

The ones they been giving out are images. I am talking just plain words, maybe images for the high high post counters with like 10k and up post.

Thing is, we used to have those plain-text ones, but since they were never used they were scrapped (probably not all that long ago, actually). The HTML user titles bit that Wolf is talking about was him bringing up an idea that could have kept them around by causing more people to use them, such as spicing them up with a selection of default ones that use HTML formatting, but since we can now give HTML usertitles away away as event prizes, that's less appealing as an option since it would hurt their appeal as a means to draw members in to participating in events.

I wasn't talking about custom user titles that people could choose from. I was talking about setting custom user titles as a sign of a rank under a rank for members. They wouldn't be chooseable. The custom user title you would have would depend on your reputation or post count in the community. Only way they would be custom is if you were a Staff member or a PC Supporter.

I am really against that. I don't want to have a usertitle and don't want to be committed to the corny default ones that were there before.

They're rather unnecessary if you ask me. The ranks on PC are defined by the user rank bars, or lack thereof. As for custom HTML usertitles, this is something that is exclusive to staff members, and those who win the temporary award of the option through competitions on the forum. While it is an interesting idea, we had something similar before and nobody really used it or liked it. We are actually discussing the possibility for more usertitle options however, but that's something we'll unveil if we come to a conclusion on it. So look forward to that at least!

I honestly don't Like usertitles all that much, (though I love the one I have now) and I hated the default usertitles.

This is a decent suggestion. I'm not against the idea, but on the other hand I like custom user titles.

    stars would be good
and have bronze silver gold stars according to the post count of a user and number of stars
Also make an option for those.who dont want them to turn this feature off
Users will spam for a bigger post count with or without any ranking system anyway
