I mostly like her, but there are about three things that bug me, the hat, the overalls and the fact that she replaces Kris as Gold's female counterpart.
I was wondering, are we going to give her a temporary name till the official one is announced? I'd suggest Bronze.

This is kind of off topic I guess, but I'm quit curious what her existents will have for an impact on the Pokemon Special Manga. I hope they don't kill off Crystal and give Mega to the new girl.
 
I actually like her better than Crystal because she is more Johto-like and she's a girl that is finally not from the anime. At least not yet.

Her looks are okay...not the best but I could deal with that.

Putting them together the new duo seems way better.
 
Agreed. Maybe people don't like the new girl because she seems "too preppy" instead of a "tomboy" like Kris. I can understand that some people don't like girly girly clothes. Even though the new girl has shorts, she's still girly. That's probably why some people don't like it. I understand now. But, I still like the new clothes for Gold and the new girl. I like them better than the originals.
 
People say she is replacing Crystal, but the post above makes it clear that she is not replacing Kris in any way what so ever. Seeing the two paried with Gold, I can say I'm starting to like the new girl more and more over Crystal. Of course this is my own opinion.
 
I am going to have to say that the hat is what probably makes her look girly. Either way she looks pretty cool to me.

That's a whole image of her but in the real game she's going to be a tiny sprite image. We don't even know how she looks there.
 
Ok...so people are trying to accept this because its not crystal? I really hope the suicune storyline stays just to have it blow up in your face.
 
Some might be accepting the new girl because she is not Crystal, but others may not.

I meant game version, not character. Everyone seems to be jumping on the "its not crystal version" to justify the change. Really I think its a poor excuse.
 
What's so bad about her? We haven't even seen her actual sprite. I think people should be glad we at least have a girl character in the game.

The new pair is so much better, besides I never liked 'Kris' that much to begin with. -shot-

I know it's been stated already, but omg, she actually looks like a 10 year old.. unlike the other heroines. -shot again-
 
It's true I'm glad they made the girl actually look her age, along with Gold as well.

@ Psyburn, why wouldn't it be a good excuse if it's a fact?

I dont see how a sprite rectifies the art. Sprites are there to give overworld presentation and ingame appearance. The artwork however gives a more detailed appearance of the characters, and right now its looking for the old gal.

Battle Tower Introduced in Crystal and has been kept since. I have no doubts in my mind that it will get removed simply because it was not in Gold and Silver prior. And as I have said before, if the Suicune storyline is implemented again, that argument is completely out of the window.

Hate to break it to you, but Fire Red and Leaf Green are Remakes of Red and Green of Japan. Blue was the REAL third version and as such, we got THAT version in the form of two. Yellow was simply made to be a version of the tv show and nothing more. Its practically a fourth version more than anything, but no, BLUE was the third version, not Yellow.

We've had three games straight with Battle Tower.. you guys are being far too picky.
We wanted this remake for years and you guys have nerve to complain about such little things.
So what if Battle Tower is left out? If you wanna challenge it pull out Crystal, Emerald, or Platinum.

On-topic, the girl is fine, and if you want Kris play Crystal. =/
