5th Gen Official Rumours Thread

Honestly I wouldn't mind seeing over 200 new pokemon. I think that they need to diversify their "inspirations" for the pokemon a little more and this Gen is the right time to do so (which I believe they are but not to the degree I would like). Like the other day as I was making a world map for my hack that has a desert and thought to myself "why is there no buzzard (or vulture) pokemon?"

I agree...150 is pretty small compared to the Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh dexes...I'm think it will be 150+ possibly with some excluded from the dex like the in DP then add them to the third version, especially Luvdisc's evolution...which will be like PolygonZ,Magmotar,etc.

The only reason the Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh dexs were so big were because they included Pokémon from previous generations. This Isshu Pokédex will only have Isshu Pokémon.

Kanto had 150 Pokémon.
Johto had 100 new Pokémon.
Hoenn had 135 new Pokémon.
Sinnoh had 107 new Pokémon.
Isshu has 22 new named Pokémon so far.

Nido's clone
Abra's clone
Muk's clone
Doduo's clone
Gengar's clone
Chansey clone
Snorlax's clone
Our three legendaries
Magikarp clone
Mewtwo's clone, which'll be Reshiram/Zekrom's third guy.

(wait does the swan count as psyduck x farfetch'd clone? cause i'm counting it as that)
(oh and shikijika can be ponyta's clone for this)
(kibago can be cubone's but i hope it doesn't evolve into ononokuso)
(mamanbo can be goldeen's clone)

Well lots of fans saw Lucario as a Mewtwo clone, and they see Zoroark as a Lucario clone so you can put that down as our Mewtwo clone ;).
I see Rashiram,and Zekrom as the clones of Moltres and Zapdos...with the possible third being the Articuno clone...

Then it's like saying Mew is Zorua's clone when it's really Victini's. D:

Well that's how lots of people see it, I don't really see it myself, I see victini as Mew...
 
I actually think Reshiram and Zekrom are Ho-oh and Lugia's clones.

We are trying to compare them to gen 1 pokemon but I also see them as Ho-oh and Lugia clones, Groudon and Kyogre clones, and Dialga and Palkia clones :P
 
Yeah it's like, what's the role of Victini then? > ____________>;

And it can't be a Lugia clone cause of "electric" D:

Well they don't all need to have matching types, look at people comparing Ponyta to Shimama :)
 
I mean role clones (in other words, Pokémon with the same role) not exact clones (same thing with Shimama/Ponyta).
 
Shimama = Girafarig though :(

Maybe by clone they mean that they both serve the same purpose? That's what I thought you meant whenever you said clone :(
 
And for me it's Ponyta=Girafarig=Shimama (I know it's weird but I mean they have a similar body shape).

EDIT: Luck, that was exactly what I wanted to say.

Well you aren't the only one, others see Shimama=Girafirig and think it's English name will be Zebrarbez...
Well the type thing still applies to Girafarig :)
 
But Ponyta doesn't look gen 2-ish. Shimama looks gen 2-ish <3

I meant body shape, not appearance. And a Natu clone... Was Xatu popular? I'm only asking because I don't know.
 
why do there have to be clones? Why can't they just be new pokemon?

I know but I heard that lots of fans want that name...I think it will have the word Zap in it's english name...
I want to see our Magikarp/Febass clone, I hope it's a Special attacker when it evolves, oppose to our attacker Karp and Special defensive bass...wonder what fish it would be based on :)?
