It'll probably be out by the end of the year. I'm kinda curious about it, although I dunno if it'll be for me.

...any games on the Switch would be welcome right now. Or a Virtual Console...why is every new Nintendo console always just a Zelda port machine for the first six months ._.

I can't wait for Stardew Valley to hit the Switch. Going to buy it day one. Been holding out this long.

I've sunk a few hours into the PC version but I'd happily re-buy it for the Switch. I'm kinda halting playing the PC version just so that I can start a fresh new file when the Switch version releases.

For people with the Switch, how does it handle? Is it awkward holding the controller or game pad?
Despite the size, in handheld mode it's actually pretty comfy - I played through almost the entirety of BOTW in handheld mode and I never experienced any issues with the controls...outside of the crappy tilt-based shrines, but that was a problem with the game, not the console.

But the makeshift gamepad? Yeah...suck it up and buy yourself a pro controller; it's more than worth the cost, and you can use it with Steam too. The gamepad is bloody hindering awkward and very uncomfortable; it's the most unnatural-feeling controller I've ever held. I've not tried using one of the Joycons sideways yet so I couldn't tell you how that feels, but it's about the same size as a Gameboy Micro, and that was a bit of a tight fit but not unusable, so I imagine it'd be better than the crappy gamepad at least.

Can you link me to what the pro controller looks like? With this, could I prop up the game pad and use this controller wirelessly?

It looks like this. Here's a side-by-side comparison to the gamepad. The shape makes a lot of difference, at least to me - it's a very comfy fit, and it's much more responsive. If you ever used the controllers with the Wii/Wii U, it's like that. Pricey, but worth it.

You can use it with the Switch propped up wirelessly, yeah...although personally I wouldn't recommend it. It's very hard to find the right...angle, I guess. You need to be close enough to the screen to see it, but far enough away that you've got room to use the controller. I never found just the right spot where I didn't feel like my elbows were embedding themselves into my ribcage and I wasn't squinting at the screen...it's not THAT big, honestly.

With the side by side comparison, the pro controller definitely looks more comfortable. Reminds me a lot of the Xbox controller. Those analog stick positionings don't...look comfortable. I feel like it would hold awkwardly on the hand. I really want to get a Switch, but their controllers are a big issue to me /:

Yeah...I'd say give it a chance at least to see if you can save money, but be prepared to get a pro controller if you want to use it in TV mode, or want to have the screen separate on a table somewhere without holding it. In handheld mode it works great with the joycons on either side, but that gamepad is just...really badly designed. It's a brick, and the grips aren't really long enough; you'll be practically clawing at the sides to hold on, and it's just not comfortable.

I dunno if other people have had different experiences, but I guess I've been using comfortable controllers for too long to get adjusted to it. xD

The joy cons feel fine to me when they're docked and undocked. Haven't tried the Pro Controller for the Switch yet but I can't see any reason to get one when I have no problems with the Comfort Grip.

Yeah, why package it with the console when you can charge an outrageous price for it separately?

I find it ironic that they'd call that thing they include with the Switch a "comfort grip" when it it anything but comfortable and offers you comparatively little grip. The joycons are well designed for going on the side of the Switch undocked, but using them separately is another matter...

My Switch is also just sitting there. It needs actual games. Not PvP rubbish. xD

My Switch is just sitting there since I've only got the one game for it atm. Thinking of getting Zelda p soon even though I've never played it before.

Ngl it was a waste of money to get it...

But given my boyfriend technically brought it at release and I haven't paid my half yet I am ok with this purchase lol. We have Zelda but we've lost interest.

PGO keeps us going :)

Breath of the Wild certainly wasn't as good as advertised...although that was none too surprising.

I only bought one at launch because I know Nintendo and stock don't go together, and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 was announced for it...and I bought a Wii for the first game, and a Wii U for X. No reason to break tradition. xD

Splatoon 2 is one I'll be picking up which is another game franchise I've never played. I like the look of the visuals and concept of the game so hopefully it'll be worth getting.
