I'm downloading an awful lot, but I won't watch any of it until it's over and done with. It's killing me enough as it is waiting for season 2 of Iron Blooded Orphans...

G Reco will go down as wasted potential thanks to the modern anime fan's need for instant gratification but it still has a lot going for it.

IBO felt like a piss take of the people that were finding G Reco too convoluted. It was literally paint by numbers with some of the most bungling Mari Okada drama you're ever going to see.

G had piss-poor characterisation, that ugly-as-sin Eureka Seven art style, and barely any plot to speak of. It wasn't convoluted, it was just cryptic. It never went anywhere. Plus the Char clone of the series was a real letdown, and half the reason I've watched these shows beyond the original is for the Char expies. xD

We need a third season of Gundam Build Fighters.

I still haven't watched a lot of the older series...they're a timesink at 50-odd episodes each. I might restart Wing somewhen, I quite enjoyed that. Although I couldn't get over Duo Maxwell's dub voice, he sounded exactly like Rattrap from Beast Wars.

I quite liked Bokurano, but I felt it was a bit too much of a departure from the series. Sunrise needs to get their shit together, honestly.

And yes. This season is really dangerous. There's so much goddamn good shit, most of it having come out of nowhere. I miss time.

The art in general is fine as long as you don't look at the characters themselves, they're unforgivably horrid. I hated Eureka Seven, so there's that, too. Anything that reminds me of that disaster...

The Char clone in IBO creeped me out a bit...isn't she, like, eight or nine or something? I know it's an arranged marriage and all, but his prim and proper attitude is still creepy as all hell.

I'd go as far as saying it was one of the best looking anime I've seen.

It did need more direction though, although that lack of obvious direction wasn't all bad as it let you enjoy their world morem obviously not what they intended. Would murder somebody if it would result in a G Reco film trilogy with some focus on story.

I didn't dislike the characters. The interactions were very Tomino, which instantly makes them like marmite.

Well, to each their own, I suppose. Tomino seems to be very selective marmite for me, and G just fell on the wrong side of it.

Given that the chances I'll watch it again are astronomically slight...I doubt it.
