iPhones are both overpriced and overrated imo.

I will probably not get an iPhone or any smartphone for a good while. Can't afford to get one, plus I'm content with my flip phone for elderly people. (No texting privileges + I only call a select few people, and it lets me use custom ringtones and wallpapers. That's good enough for me.) Also got my iPad and iPod, which have everything I'd want to have on and iPhone/smartphone sans calling people.

"I can't afford a smartphone."

"I have an iPad."

Is it just me or colleges ruin more people than they form?

I've never met anyone who was ruined by college...so I think it might be just you. I've met people that ruin themselves though.

Exactly. People make bad choices, ruining themselves, not the college itself. I've never met anyone that's said that college ruined them.

Eh, college creates debt, which therefore opens an environment for someone to be a lot more apt to ruin themselves than they would be able to otherwise. Maybe that's what he was getting at, eh?

I love how every time I refresh the page the load hiccups right where Dipu says that iPhones are overpriced as hell. Thank you for stating what needs to be said. :A

I actually didn't think of it at all as financial ruin. Could be thought. I assumed moral/mental ruin, as the opposition to "form".

For what you get, iPhones don't seem all that pricy. I'd love to get one after my old phone craps the bed. I still have a Samsung smartphone with a slide out keyboard. I love it to death, but they stopped making accessories for it years back

Eh, I avoid the devil (AT&T) and his brother (Verizon... or is it Time Warner?)

I switched to Ting and picked up a Nexus 5 when I got back in the States. More price upfront, but saving $1400 over two years. But I try to stay out of the android vs. iphone war; if you're enjoying your 150 screen hits a day, keep going.

As for college and ruin, I agree that debt can really make people fragile, but I wonder when we'll see the University bubble pop in our lifetime.

*hugs* what's the matter Dakota?
