I wonder if they'll give the regional Rodents, birds, and bugs Megas. I would like for Linoone to become Normal/Electric, Swellow Electric/ Flying and have an ability called "Electrolize" or something like that which turns normal moves into electric moves, and for Dustox to keep it's type but get Levitate, Beautifly can become Bug/Fairy and get Levitate too.

I would LOVE Butterfree to have simple with quiver dance and the typing of Psychic. Also Mega Raticate for Strong Jaw and Normal/Poison. I actually for a fact dubbed Beautifly Bug/Fairy on a project of mine. But thats really off topic.

Normal/Dark may fit Raticate better. Does it even have Poison moves?

That MegaButterfree would be scary...

Raticate doesn't have any poison moves, or that much anyways, but it definitely should. Yeah MegaButterfree with simple put it blunt......Quiver Dance= Geomancy. So unless you can take it down quickly, there will be no prisoners xD
 
Note: this comic is extremely relevant. 8)

On topic, I feel like Diancie was more of an exception to the new Mega evolutions all being Hoenn pokemon than a hint of Megas for Pokemon from any region. They might involve her in a future movie, or Steven's plot, or something to do with the prehistoric forms. Other than that, I don't see any Pokemon outside of Hoenn getting a new Mega evolution, at least in ORAS.

iirc, wasn't Diancie trying to unlock a new power in the movie? I really don't know much about it but Mega is probably it, considering they unveiled them before it came out (I think lol). Though I still don't know why they would have the power be Mega Evo instead of anything else, really. She is probably just an exception.

I think that is the power too, especially considering that the movie involve Mega evolutions and the two legendaries linked with it.
 
The movie comes out in July for Japan, so we might be able to connect the dots at that point. Game Freak didn't release Mega Diancie's new ability in the CoroCoro, which to me might hint at the possibility of one that doesn't currently exist and will be introduced in ORAS. I'll be disappointed if it's simply an old ability that they decided not to reveal. D:

I hope it's something new. Maybe something like Crystalize which would make all Normal moves do Rock damage.
 
I find it rather interesting that they haven't yet released Diancie but they've also announced Mega Diancie. It will be interesting to see how it ties in withy ORAS though, the fact that it was revealed alongside the Hoenn starter Megas makes me think that it could have some sort of involvement in the Game.

Maybe, or it could be like the Mewtwo formes, and we simply find it in a cave...

Looking at your signature makes me wonder if it's shiny will be pink or some other color like red to match sapphires and rubies.

I hope its not pink. please please don't be pink,lol. I will find out though after the game comes out:) I already havea shiny mudkip, but I'm probably going to breed my own with egg moves for the playthrough. I have also already bred a shiny treecko, so I'm going to use that as well. Then I will breed a shiny torchic so I can "start" with all the starters in shiny form.

edit: I'm color blind .. The mega swampert in my sig look grey to me, is it pink??
The only pink I can "see" is pepto pink.

Yeah, it's pink.
Since Shiny Swampert is purple-pinkish MegaSwampert may be purple-pinkish too like the rest of the line.

I got some weird looks when I snickered at this in the break room at work.

I seen a picture a while back where someone took the starters and made them half dark types. The swampert there was a yellowish-white (think of the eyeless newt). I would be thrilled if shiny mega swampert looked like that.

There might be a new area in the post-game where you can find Diancie, somewhere around the Battle Frontier I suppose. I could honestly see it being a reward from Steven to you if you can defeat him in your post-game rematch. That might be too generous a reward, but I think it'd make sense. He is the strongest trainer in Hoenn, so achieving victory against him is no easy task.
