You're not as subtle or as smart as you think you are, trust me.

The main reason I joined is because there are a lot of older users on this site. By Pokemon forum standards anyway. I never knew there would be such an interesting section down the bottom here when I signed up. Most forums have an off topic section but PC's is among the best I've seen and I think that speaks volumes about the community here. So generally I've had a positive experience so far but yeah I've noticed the clique mentality from a couple of people too. There's one user in particular who seems very pleased with his or her self but I'll just do my best not to let them ruin my time.

What is this fan club you speak of?!

    I'm the founder :3

Anyways for the most part I think people are really fun and nice here! :D There are some of those that take stuff too serious, are plain stupid, annoying as mess, etc. but still most everyone here is great!

That said the one thing i really like and hate about PC are as stated before, the cliques. I feel like it's kinda a good thing that people have their groups of friends and stuff but, speaking as a newer member, when members first start off it's really hard to get into the "in" crowd and meet people :3 so yeah the cliques kinda exclude peoples and that makes them feel bad xD i was trying to sound intelligent but, fell on my face... anyways yeah love yall <3

I have to say, the members here have more personality than on most other forums I used to go on. Everyone acts in their own way and we have a little laugh every now and then, plus I managed to meet so many older people who play Pokemon. It's a great memberbase.

My opinion on the memberbase here is constantly changing as I interact and befriend new people each day. I'd be lying if I said that I like everyone here and that I thought it was a perfect forum in terms of the people here. Yes, I do like the good majority of people here but some(and I won't name any names ) do come off as a bit misleading at first. For example, there is a certain member here who I originally thought was a fantastic member when I first joined and only later discovered that they were very conceded and really only cared about self promotion. There were also countless members whom I have interacted with that were seemingly bright and only turned out to be idiots once I got to know them a bit more. Aside from those cases though, I will say that PC is probably the best forum all around. I have made countless friends here including the person whom I consider my best friend. Most people here are intelligent, caring, understanding, and all around great members. No forum would be complete without it's good share of both good and bad members now would it?

What do you think of our memberbase in general? The memberbase varies. We have folks who is dedicated, type a full page from a novel's length to a simple question, we have folks who answers with just one sentence that barely bypass the 25/4 rules, and so forth. That's good. If everyone were the same, we'd have BoreCommunity instead. The difference in personalities, cultures, sense of humors, etc, are great

Friendly or unfriendly? Very friendly. Rarely have any unfriendly members.

    Mature or immature? 89% matured.

Interesting or not interesting? Interesting. Once again, boredom if it wasn't.

What are some experiences you've had on PC that give you your opinion of the memberbase? Just being active, giving the effort to chatting with people via VM's, Skype, etc. If you don't, you're not going to know anyone nor will enjoy yourself. If no one knows you, you're going to fade away either being extremely bored or unwelcomed.

I'd have to agree entirely with what Castform said in the previous post, saving everyone the trouble of reading two identical point.

Ok here it goes! In all truth. I only talk to 4 percent of this community. Reason, well I don't know or dislike some people. That mod clique is well ( no comment).... I don't trust many members because of them hanging with people I don't like or trust. I would continue but, no pointing fingers eh.

People here, on the whole, are friendly, considerate and inoffensive. To a very extreme degree. I think that's actually my problem with the memberbase; it's possible to be too much of those generally good things and I find it makes a lot of people quite neutral and uninteresting. Almost as if they're so polite that they're afraid of upsetting someone. I know it sounds harsh, but I feel like it's true; a lot of people here quite simply don't make good conversation because they're too considerate and inoffensive to as much as interact directly with someone else. As such I find myself attracted more readily to the more... idk, stirring (?) personalities on here, of which I feel there are pretty few. I quite often load a thread (I'll use the DCC as an example) and see one or two people trying to make conversation flow, having a bit of fun with each other, etc. followed by 376828926 people posting a highly neutral and common opinion vaguely related to the topic at hand and I kinda feel myself thinking, "why?".

Don't get me wrong, the memberbase on here is hugely likeable in the sense that it's doing nothing wrong and is very respectful and whatnot, but yeah, as I say - there comes a point where you can have too much of a good thing. I think Nick nailed the statement that I want to make in far fewer words; "Friendly, bland, a little slow and kind of annoying".

As for mentions of cliques, it being hard to fit in here, and stuff like that - gotta say I'm not seeing it. I think we're a massively friendly and inclusive community so if you're experiencing that then I honestly don't know what the problem is. I'd never say that fitting into a community with such a neutral, non-opinionated atmosphere is something that should be challenging. ):

I honestly don't know what some of you expect out of a forum. Could you guys give me some examples of sites with more interesting communities? PM me if you can't post the names of other forums in this thread, I'm genuinely curious because it sounds like some of you guys have ridiculously high standards.

I've been here nearly 4 years, off and on anthrough a good 3 or 4 accounts.
I love of all of you guys, even the ones who are relatively new. Funnily enough, I got back into the PokéCommunity Forums through an ex-mod, I believe, of ROM Hacking. It was a very big coincidence. When are you doing Showderp again Spherical

You guys have a lot more character than other forums/communities [cough]Smogon[/cough] and for that I'm proud of and grateful.
However, some of us can be a little too... uptight, I guess you could put it. I won't name names, though, mostly because I don't need those people at my necks.

Much like anywhere else, you'll see people from all walks of life, if you get to know them. We have leaders and followers, we have people who are incredibly bright and insightful, and we have people dumb enough to make sacks of potatoes look smart in comparison. That's kind of humanity in a nutshell right there.

What constitutes 'interesting' is wildly subjective. It is what you make out of it.

In general, I think we have a very interesting, diverse, friendly and accepting community considering most of us have never and will never actually meet one another. Hell, I have even met people on here I consider friends.

As far as maturity goes, considering that this a forum based around a franchise aimed at children the majority of people - even those with a sillier or more whimsical nature - are quite mature in how they handle themselves and view the world. I like that. Unfortunately there are a few members here whose immaturity kind of makes me want to do a Samara and climb through their screens and strangle them. Clearly I'm one of the mature ones based on that last comment.

The reason this forum is so interesting, is because everyone here is really different. I remember once seeing a thread saying that some of the staff were carbon copies of each other, but I really don't see that even. Every member I have interacted with on this forum has been quite different from the last in at least one or two aspects.

I will admit though, I think that those who find the community kind of clicky are pretty accurate. I like to think that there are some members (me included I hope) that will happily strike up a conversation or friendship even with anyone. But even within the RPC, which is the forum I frequent the most and am most active in, I feel as though there are these clearly defined groups and that I'm not exactly strongly affiliated. In all honesty, I think staff and prominent members who have been around for a while are the most "cliquey" which is fine for the most part, it makes sense even, but sometimes it gets to feel as though the rest of us get overlooked a bit.

As I said though, for the most part we have an amazing community here and I am happy to be apart of it. We have friendly members, responsible and helpful staff and there's something here for everyone.

This place never gets boring for me; so many people, so many different personalities! You never meet 2 of the same pair of eyes when you're here. That's because everyone's diverse in their own way - everyone has their own traits that define who they are. It's these definitive behaviours, traits and outlooks on life that make them who they are, and what makes this particular forum among the best.

I hardly see anything wrong happen here, I seriously have only seen at least one troll during my time here...it's peaceful, nobody causes problems, the staff do their jobs flawlessly..it's perfect. too perfect.

What I think about PC's memberbase is the same as the memberbase from the past forums I've joined. Some users are interesting like O07_Eleven and BahISuck, while others are assertively opinionated, forcing me to choose who I should befriend if I find them tolerable.

I share opinions with quite a few, I see. I sort of dislike some of the groups here. For no big reason, but yeah. I like the fact that people are mature by a pokémon community's standards. Even any other standard, heck. This place has some amazeballs people. Highly intellectual, mature and interesting. But those stick out like a sore thumb among the crowd of members who are the ones described above as the bland, goody goody neutral members. Ever seen shonen? They almost feel like canon fodder. No offense intended, but that's just how I feel. :p

I sometimes dislike the fact that some members cannot learn to take a joke and get overly serious and shizz over nothing. And I sort of miss the more mischievous kinds of people found more at other forums like NF and such. The wildly entertaining bunch of people just are too less in number here. Go to narutoforums (don't even like the place as much as PC. Not even a tenth of the liking I have for PC) and you'll see some genuinely funny ****. People so ridiculous and so non...generic(?) that you can't help but wish that PC had more of those kinds of people.

Oh please narutoforums is full of weaboos who take themselves and the characters they like WAY too seriously. Don't get me started on the mods there, just terrible. I got banned for criticizing Itachi because one of the mods there was a complete fanboy. I remember getting an infraction before that in the Pokemon section over there for saying most gen 5 pokemon look horrible. Apparently a negative opinion is trolling to them. Could you imagine if mods here started giving infractions and bans to people who criticized certain Pokemon or games?

Those are just two examples I know. But I find the the majority of the Naruto Fandom over there unbearable. Anyone still following that poor excuse for a shounen at this point has serious issues.

Lol I don't even go there for naruto. I don't know anything about the naruto fandom. Haven't posted in a naruto section as of yet. The guys in other sections like those of small sub sections like Kill la Kill's and others are super fun haha. I know it is full of terrible people and most staff members downright suck ass but there are plenty of good members OUTSIDE the naruto boards. Maybe our opinions differ because we haven't been to the same sections, perhaps? That place is sort of big. Members ranging from great to atrocious over there. I was talking about the mischievous yet not bad at heart kind of people. Want a staff member example? Blue is one awesome person. So is ane. Former is far from a tyrant like many people describe nf's staff. He's an admin and jokes around without taking things too seriously. One member even attacked him once, iirc, and he merely retaliated by giving him a normak reply instead of slapping an infraction on him. :p

But that's going off topic. NF has plenty of horrible, horrible members. But there are plenty that are wildly entertaining and just good people at the same time. I wish those migrated here.

oh, and I still follow, as in read, that 'poor excuse for a shonen'. Just to see how it'll end for the most part.

MacGyver used to be the best thing about NF. But the mods over there emasculated and neutered him until he was no longer allowed to express himself or show any personality. I liked Temari too, but for ... "other" reasons hehe

I find the member base to be like a bag of mixed jellybeans.

There's people I love to talk to: the red and green beans, while there's others I don't really know but don't bother me: the orange and yellow jellybeans, while there's members who I very much dislike: the black beans.

In general I find that majority of people here at extremely friendly, but also - like others have said - cliquey and overly inoffensive.

I have the same opinion of the memberbase as the staff team. I don't really connect to anyone here but that's okay. But it doesn't matter who you are, if you say something dumb, you will hear about it from me.
