People here, on the whole, are friendly, considerate and inoffensive. To a very extreme degree. I think that's actually my problem with the memberbase; it's possible to be too much of those generally good things and I find it makes a lot of people quite neutral and uninteresting. Almost as if they're so polite that they're afraid of upsetting someone. I know it sounds harsh, but I feel like it's true; a lot of people here quite simply don't make good conversation because they're too considerate and inoffensive to as much as interact directly with someone else. As such I find myself attracted more readily to the more... idk, stirring (?) personalities on here, of which I feel there are pretty few. I quite often load a thread (I'll use the DCC as an example) and see one or two people trying to make conversation flow, having a bit of fun with each other, etc. followed by 376828926 people posting a highly neutral and common opinion vaguely related to the topic at hand and I kinda feel myself thinking, "why?".
Don't get me wrong, the memberbase on here is hugely likeable in the sense that it's doing nothing wrong and is very respectful and whatnot, but yeah, as I say - there comes a point where you can have too much of a good thing. I think Nick nailed the statement that I want to make in far fewer words; "Friendly, bland, a little slow and kind of annoying".
As for mentions of cliques, it being hard to fit in here, and stuff like that - gotta say I'm not seeing it. I think we're a massively friendly and inclusive community so if you're experiencing that then I honestly don't know what the problem is. I'd never say that fitting into a community with such a neutral, non-opinionated atmosphere is something that should be challenging. ):
