Figured this applies more to supporters than anyone, considering supporters have more perks than members after all and would probably relate to this question the best.

Imagine PPN / Rukario came up to you and gave you a proposition:
    • To either become a moderator without only the basic perks, which means you'll have an avatar size of 130x130, small profile pics, no images allowed in your profile, small PC albums, etc, though you'll have the ability to disable signatures, lock threads, etc, all those things, and the extra responsibility of having to look after a forum - this also means no VIP forum, though
    • Or to become tier 6 with all the extra perks you couldn't get before with your current tier, so you'd have maximum sizes for everything
If you're tier 6, or if you're a staff member, would you trade your current "position" (as outlined in the above proposition) for the other one? Actually, this probably applies more to tier 6's than current staff, 'cause I for one know I wouldn't trade B/W for any tier lol. Actually, if it helps, think from a member perspective, as in, what you'd take before you were staff.

I'm a Tier 6 and I would absolutely trade all the perks. Donating was never really about the perks for me (though the larger avatar and blog are EPIC), it was about trying to be a bigger part of the community. There is no person more important in the community than the staff members, there's no way to be more involved in the community than being a staff member. I try as hard as I can to be as active in every respect as I can, and I spend SO MUCH of my time here now lol, but hard as I try, I'll never be able to be as involved in the community as a staffer.

Me being just a Tier 3 supporter, I'd go for the perks. I don't think I'll make a good moderator anyways.

And besides, I don't have any other way of getting supporter thingamajig.

The only perk that really interested me at first was colored username, and Staff have that anyways. I honestly don't even utilize half the perks I have so I really wouldn't care. Donors and Staff both are an asset to the community, although Staff is more so. So I would choose the one that helps the community more(not to mention I don't care much for perks). Also I choose option C create an alt and then retain basic Supporter perks.

Considering I barely use most of the perks, I'm sure I could adapt back to the restrictions. That being said, if a moderator was needed I'd gladly do the job. Though if I feel that someone could do the job better I'd certainly recommend them for the position and return to my current status if they are accepted.

Thats a tough one actually, as much as i love my profile customization option i guess if i got to choose which forum i was to moderate i would choose the mod, like Life, The Universe, and Everything or something x]
Plus moderators get other perks like the user title thing and having the staff forum and stuff.

I don't use most of the perks other than the nice name which I'd have if I was a Mod anyway, so I'd rather the Mod option than the Supporter. Especially since I've only had people donate for me; none of my own money has gone into my supportership, so maybe I don't value it as highly as some others do, unfortunately.

I'd prefer the responsibility. I feel like I could actually help PC and the members that way. In all honesty, I only donate to help PC. I want to do as much as I can. Which is not much at the moment but I am making an effort I suppose.

Considering I rarely make use of the 150x150 px avatar, never use this supposedly Pokecommunity Email system, or really anything else, I think I would trade in all the perks for the Moderator status. It'd mean I'd help the community, which is always good, and that's about it. I don't really know what else mods get except from helping out everyone and having the good feeling inside from it. :)

You do get the keep the blog right, if you chose moderator over perks, right?

Nope, only the basic things needed for moderation. :D
Though the official PC blog... we can't even use, so. 'Tis why I said 130 x 130, etc, cause by default, moderator rank gets all those perks.

smods have more perks than moderators and 6 tier supporters, so i pick neither! :)

Mod. I love having more freedom with my profile, and my blog (which I don't really use much tbh), but being mod has been my goal since last October.
But I want to see what goes on in the staff section. :3

This is a tough question. I like having my perks since I like to work on making awesome Profile backgrounds and I love to make blogs. Those are the main things I use when I'm a PC supporter but becoming a Moderator would also be interesting since I would be helping out the forum even more so I'm stuck on this one.

Wait. So we get rid of the perks that we got when we donated (or had somebody else do it) for modship? Honestly I'd feel ripped off a bit I guess. It would also be bribing I guess, and I'm sure I'd feel guilty when I could've tried to earn it on my own.

I'd rather be a mod with basic powers. I barely use any of my supporter perks other than the larger avatar, and, depending on where I was modded, I'd rather be able to lock selling threads right away instead of waiting for hours (yes, I do kinda lurk these threads to see if they've been locked yet) on higher staff to get around to locking them, especially in TCG, which attracts passerby who do not read the rules before posting and either post selling threads or try purchasing the goods in said selling threads. Of course, I could spam up the reports box with multiple reports of the same post, but I'm pretty sure that's against the rules and would annoy the heck out of whichever higher staff members were on at the time. And I also have a bit of a curiosity regarding what the boards actually are in the staff forums.

I'd pick staff. I hate not being staff on forums because after so many years on PC, seeing spam and not being able to deal with it drives me absolutely nuts. :|

    To be honest, I can't really think of any supporter perks I really use. My avatars are rarely larger than 100x100, I could easily live without the one custom background on my profile, I don't use my blog for anything important, and I can't think of any other perks I make use of. I guess the only perk I would feel bad about not having is my custom Cherrim user rank but that's an admin thing anyway. XD;

    you suck at hypothetical questions.

    Staff, please!

Even without perks, I'd still enjoy it, because I don't utilize them enough to care. I can go months without changing my profile theme, my avatars are usually 130 or below, and my blog collects dust. I'd miss my big profile pic, cause I spam those with silly pics a lot, but oh well. I'd make an album. xp

Staff, easily. I don't use my blog, my custom profile abilities, the avatar extension, and whatever the PC email is. I'd rather have some responsibility and help the forum that way (even though helping financially is always nice ^_^)

After being a Mod, then back to a supporter, then being a mod again, I would definitely have to say Mod. I haven't changed my profile since the end of last year/beginning of this year, and these days my avatar hasn't been up to 150x150 (the original reason why I donated, heh). As for my blog I don't really use it all that often, and I can surely live without that.

Not to mention that I felt weird not being able to do stuff when I was on my dloa. >w>
