Photoshop Q & A

Ok I have a question for Imageready CS2… How do I save optimized a gif to be under 40kb without reducing the size of the canvas?

Ok I have a question for Imageready CS2… How do I save optimized a gif to be under 40kb without reducing the size of the canvas?

In the save settings, there should be a button that says Advanced. Click this, then set the quality level to whatever will let it be 40kb.

Looking at your screenshots, it looks like you've had the optmiziation window open. In that, did you click on that little arrow that led to "Optimize to File Size"? When you do, it'll optimize the file. From there, go to File > Save Optimized As and then choose the filetype you want and then you have save your optimized file!

How do I make a banner with curved edges?

Use the selection tool and where it says feather 0px change it to whatever… then select inverse and delete from all layers.
Also r-kun… can you give screenshots of you doing it Oo

Oh I'm a ball bag… thanks… I didn't know about the first screenshot =D

Just a quick question;

When you decrease the size of a brush, why does it get blurry? I usually sharpen mine after I decrease their sizes. Is there a way to stop them from becoming blurry? Thanks!

Motsuko

They are pixel based and each brush was designed at a certain size… it's like when you are reducing the size of a photo… There isn't really a way around it…

well if you get mad of having to sharpen it every time make the sharpened one a preset.

First of all, I don't get mad, I was just wondering if there was a way to stop them from becoming blurry.
Second of all, that wouldn't help me at all. It would work if I needed another stroke from that brush the exact same size, but when I tried to decrease/increase it's size, it would become blurry again. X_x;;

Anyways, I'll just continue sharpening them; it's not that big a bother...

Question: Where can I find cut out shapes like the one used in this tutorial?

The shape in that tutorial was made using the Polygonal Lasso tool or the Pen tool. basically it was custom made.

Oh ^^;

Well maybe its too hard for me then XD

nah if you hold shift while using the porygonal tool it make the line perfect.

Where is a good place to get photoshop plugins?

Hey
Does anyone know how to do the reflection thingy that Gerri Shin does?
~poke'd

Like, a reflection at the bottom of the banner, right?

I'm not sure exactly how he does it, but here's a tutorial I found:

Click.

If you really want to know, why not PM him? ^^
