Which medium do you prefer for reading manga, physical or digital? Which one do you generally use?

Personally, I prefer physical because I don't like looking at a screen for too long, and I just prefer physical for books in general (call me old school xD) But digital is cheaper, since there's plenty of websites where you can read and download manga for free.

I prefer physical ones, but there aren't any English-translated manga here other then those that are translated by Chuang-Yi, which are mostly Pokemon. However, there's always the Chinese ones... but my Chinese reading skills are not that great.

I don't really need to write anything as you're basically the same as me in this regard lol

As much as I would like to have a collection of physical manga, I only possess 2 volumes of Kamichama Karin ;-; And those were birthday presents from a friend; they've kind of been shoved aside/neglected ever since...With that being said, I prefer digital manga not only because they're free and easily accessible, but also, the majority of the manga series that I read are not well-known to the public. Thus, they probably have very little chance of ever being localized because the NA market is not the same as that of Japan.

Oh, out of the 73 volumes of One Piece out now, I only possess 4. :p But yeah, the feeling of being able to read it in your hands is very much different from reading it online. And, if I could, I would definitely read physical copies. But, like you said, it isn't possible for some series. As, you know, as much as I'd love to read Gintama, it isn't really localized after volume 23.

    I prefer physical. Not sure how to explain it, but it just gives you sort of a different feeling, y'know? You could read as many manga as you like online, but in my opinion, it could never be as exciting. Personally, though, I've not owned much manga myself, aside from maybe four or five. xD;;

I would be looked at strangely if the ones I read were ever localized ¬_¬ I would consider ordering them online if not for the fact that I can't read Japanese and it would be a hassle having them shipped overseas \:

My bookcase currently has a full collection of Mushishi, Fruits Basket, and Red River :)

With a series like Naruto or Bleach, it'd be really expensive to get all the volumes physically. At the local shop where I get all my anime stuff it's like $6 a volume, so you'd be spending well over four hundred bucks to get the whole series. Only worth it if you're like a really hardcore collector xD

Well, I love OP so I do plan to buy all 100+ volumes (by the time it ends) of it lol. It is super expensive here, though. Each volume costs about $12. Lol, that means I'd be spending over $1000 on the whole series XD I don't mind, though. It is my all time fave.

Oh, and I bought them online - import versions from america lel. I can't get manga in stores here. No company in India like Viz. Although they did say recently at a con that they plan to come to India. Would love to have more access really. :p

I prefer Physical ones, I want something to take a hold on.
I want to put it on my desk, And I think it reads better In a book.

Nowadays I usually just read online... mostly because it's free, I would take a paper copy over digital any day though. It's amazing to have something in your hand to enjoy and look at, it's also a lot easier to appreciate the art as well.

While I obviously prefer physical volumes, 95% of time I read online.
I have half of Tsubasa Chronicles, complete Zero no Tsukaima, half of Death Note and first 4 volumes of Naruto.
I plan to complete my Tsubasa Chronicles collection and... I actually want to buy Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei JP Light Novels =D

I prefer physical copies of manga (and books in general!) but I can read digital ones if I cannot find the physical ones.

I like holding the book in my hand and turning the pages and such, compared to moving my mouse around and hitting the next button on my computer. I read fast so I find that waiting for the page to load takes too long for me and it gets pretty distracting unless I really get into whatever I'm reading. xD

Personally I like the physical copies more. But localization takes too long that I end up reading online. xD

However, I'm actually glad I live here. A single copy only cost about $1.5 converted into USD. Guess who has a collection of about 150-200 volumes? xDD

The problem is that we don't know when the volumes are out. It takes too long to update.

So physical because it has that feeling, digital for quick updates.

I would so much prefer to have physical copies, but given that a lot of what I have been reading lately is not available in English and I don't read Japanese... yeah, that's kind of a problem for the time being.

In general, I prefer physical copies of... pretty much anything, manga included. I don't feel comfortable with digital, quite frankly. I subscribed to WSJ for a while but the digital nature of the product turned me off, so I cancelled the subscription.

I like digital for the reason that I can see everything before the people that wait for it to come out in physical copies. However when it does come out in a physical form I do tend to go get it at the library and take it home for a couple hours just for a little refresher.
