Planning: PokéCommunity Get-Together 2009

July, 5 days.
obviously.

I would say September, 5 days.
Just because I think a lot people might be on vacation in August. So September, which is after summer for most people, seems to be better to get more people here.

September's when everyone goes back to school/college. (At least in the UK)

August is still Summer Vacation for a lot of PC's members, I think if we had it September it might make it so less people show up. D: Especially if it's mid/late September. I'm not saying this for myself, because I'm out of college for awhile, just pointing out that a lot of other people will be back in school by then.

Also, the Scavenger Hunt is basically confirmed? :3 Awesome! That's one of things I'm most looking forward to, since I don't have any way to do the Skype/Wifi things.

Thats another thing I was gonna mention.. I think there should be a fair amount of fun events on the forums too, instead of all the totally awesome ones taking place on wifi/skype, since a good number of people might not be able to take part in those. D:

Oh, and..
Members would sign up for the contest, and create their drawing. (On Paint only, of course.) A deadline will be created, votes will be taken, and whoever wins would receive and emblem and bragging rights.

Signomi would win.

>__>

xD; Seriously..

Yeah, but at least everyone gets the change to get on pc, instead of returning from vacation and then seeing in their mail there was a PC Get-Together.

Why not end of July to beginning of August?

Like, for five days like everyone else says, but: July 29th to August 2nd?

but: July 29
Because that's my birthday and PC changes to FoxyCommunity for that day.

Anyyywaaayyy my idea about the gaming night.

It'll be zombie themed. Since most PSN users at PC have and play World At War (noted for it's zombie mode) and a lot of XBL peeps have L4D/World at War it'll be pretty simple and accessible to a lot of people.

Basically depending on turn out we'd do it in teams of 4, we'd play as long as we'd like (but you would have to join at a certain time to be entitled to the emblem) and obviously it'll be on a set date. I've already coined up an emblem for those participating.

[PokeCommunity.com] Planning: PokéCommunity Get-Together 2009

Emblem name Survivor
DescriptionCongrats kid, you've slung guns and sent a load of Zombies back down to hell as one of PC's finest!
Obtained by: obviously participating in the zombie event

Now I reckon this one will need more than 1 backer. I'd say one host one back up for PSN and same for XBL, although it might be worth having 3 each.

That time frame just mixes in with big events around the world (see EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, European Wakeskate Championships, etc) so there probably would be less people. Not to mention that's a gold-mine vacation time because it's final get-away before the shadow of school creeps closer. :x

*is away 24th through 5th at EAA*

Oh, just trying to throw out a few ideas, since I go back to school in the beginning of August. >>;

Not your fault. I get back in school early/middle August too. It's not like we can't log on after school and still have a blast, right? :O

So true. The good thing is, we'll most likely not have homework for those three days. :D

Most likely, the start of school isn't nearly as hectic as near major tests or what have you. I think we'd be able to manage with school in our backpocket.

Also, another awesome idea.

PC BATTLE FRONTIER TAGTEAM TOURNAMENT. <3333

Oh wow, I would love to do Mario Kart Races. I got Mario Kart DS, so if anyone have a DS, that game, and Wi-Fi...let me know. I don't how it is going to be like in August since I have a full-time job. The date when this get together is held, I might have to work. ;; But I will let you guys know, if we do the Mario Kart Races thing.

This seems like an awesome idea right here! I am new to this VIP board by the way guys, just got onto the PC supporter recently. And this is really cool. This get together sounds great and I really am interested in most of the ideas people have suggested. The Battle frontier tagteam tourney is one of my favorite ones.

During summer preferably (so July or August, though US goes back to school in August) and honestly? 5 days seems overkill to me. :( Not only do we have issues with people being unable to attend due to school/work but if we have it over 3 days, it's a weekend with an extra day. Even if you have things to do on the weekdays, doing a Fri-Sun thing makes it so more people can be around the whole time and if we're holding certain events on certain days, I just think it'll be a lot easier to keep people around. (5 days is a long time and I think we'd risk people losing interest after the first two or so.)

As much as I agree with the fact that people are likely to lose interest, it's going to be one hell of a task to try and fit everything into the 3 days. I know that most tournaments are going to need at least a week. I'm not necessarily saying that we should make it longer than 3 days, it's just going to be complicated.

Here's an idea:

We have a tournament. Whenever somebody loses, they must post what move their last Pokémon was finished by. We make a list. On the final battle, both competitors must have at least ten of those moves spread among their Pokémon's movesets.

Maybe that's too complicated. -.-

What if we have an item scramble tournament? Whoever loses must give up a valuable item to the winner. We will make a list of what is considered valuable, like Heart Scales, Star Pieces, etcetera.

"→ PC Gaming: for those without the "console of the day", the backup could be playing something on the computer? TF2 or something, I dunno. *super imaginative today oh boy* "

Liking this idea. I don't do consoles any more, you just have to waste 500 bucks on a new one every year.

We could all get together on, as Lightning said, TF2. But I don't know how many people play.
Or we could meet up somewhere in the world (of warcraft). ;D

Or maybe, as BeachBoy said, we could all get together on PC's shoddy server?

No one said the tournament-style things have to span the whole Get Together or vice versa. They could just as easily be started early so the finals coincide or the tournament starts during the GT and continues after it's "officially" over.
