Planning: PokéCommunity Get-Together 2009

PC ELECTIONS.

Perfect time to actually get a PC president, since nothing normally happens with suggestions. XD;

Oh yeah, I remember that from WAAAAAAY back. Everyone's been dying to have another election anyways.

I just thought I should mention the fact that I did the Wifi Pokemon Tournament last time, and it was a bit of a disaster. So anyone thinking of hosting it should really think everything over before it starts.

IRL prizes could actually encourage more people to participate. I realise that they would be difficult to pull of, but I'm just throwing in my two cents. (Metaphorically speaking.)
 
I'm going to follow the flow on whatever you guys want, but if I have an idea, I might as well throw it out there, correct?

I've noticed that most artists on PC use Deviantart or some other sort of board to do their work on. I've also noticed that several of them can't stand to use Paint. I think it would be funny/challenging/interesting to create a contest- but only from use of Paint.

Members would sign up for the contest, and create their drawing. (On Paint only, of course.) A deadline will be created, votes will be taken, and whoever wins would receive and emblem and bragging rights.

Basically an Art Contest, just with a small, yet challenging twist. Paint is very difficult, I agree. Which is why I believe it would be fun and amusing to see how some members work with it.

Anyway, just a fun little idea I thought could be a nice addition to the Get-Together. :D

This is a FANTABULOUS idea :D

But, what type of art?

Spriting?
If not revamps/splices/etc.etc., original Sprites (like fakemon)?
Large pictures?
Are making sugimori into smaller pics, revamped with paint acceptable?

Love the idea of the paint contest, haha. ;D
But as for other ideas... I'm not very good with them; here are a few random (not so awesome) ones.

  • A Pokecommunity Collab Dictionary Try to get an entry for 100's of members, put it together on a nice layout : D
  • Picture out of many pictures I have no idea what it's really called, I'm sure there's a better word, but everybody makes a picture and put it together... like this
  • PC BYOND Game Making a Pokecommunity based 2D MMORPG, could have it done in a few days. Only problem with this is I don't think many on PC use BYOND, but it's a game engine.
If I think of more, I'll definitely share D: Not that they'll be much better...

Give everyone a HUGE list of stuff to find on pc. o3o that they gotta take a screenie of.

Like...

"Find a member who defies his or her supossed gender.
Find a post with four or more types of smilies faces
Find a staff member acting ooc
Find a Garystu
Find an ancient PC member
Find a newbie.
Find the cake."

etc etc. o3o

and people can team up. Winners get emblems and the right to say they pwn life? Don't quite know on prizes but everybody takes screenies so it's not like people without artistic talent [such as myself. ^^;] are totally helpless.

The idea of IRL gifts is kind of.... I don't know, strange. I think emblems, or the Supporter rank would be some good gifts to give out.

I like Erica's idea of maybe a gaming night each night. Maybe have an emblem for each of the nights (sort of like how GameSpot gives an emblem for each of the E3 Press Events you watch).

Maybe for one of the threads, have some type of history thing for the members of PC. Such as their fav moments, or how much they or PC has changed, or maybe some things related to past PC Get-Togethers and so on. Something that isn't as formal or down the line as the other threads or events.


I just get this strange feeling that tons of different emblems will be handed out. XD
 
I'll have different categories to enter in. Sprites, Fakemon, Anime, etc. There will be a winner for each category.

Love the iSketch and Scavenger Hunt idea. :D

Scavenger hunts, I dunno... I always loved them xD;
But wait, lemme get this straight, so basically everybody will be emailed about the huge events that're going on, then whenever it's decided it will happen, the events last for a few days, then prizes are given out?
