Yeah, it has to be the same for me; a lot of my favorite Pokémon comes from generations one and two, such as Ninetales, Vulpix, Charizard, Blastoise, and so forth. Though, there's also a handful of gen three ones, such as Metagross and Jirachi. From generation four and onward, things seemed to have started dwindling a little (at least in my eyes), causing Pokémon to become a little more tough to like (in terms of appearance, anyway; for competitive purposes, that's a completely different story).

Although my #1 favorite Pokémon comes from Generation I (Lapras), Generation V is my favorite in terms of Pokémon overall. Between Scolipede (my second favorite ever), Hydreigon, Scrafty, Jellicent and several others, there are very few from that generation I dislike. My least favorite in terms of such is probably Generation IV, but second is Generation III (which ironically, is my second least favorite in terms of adventure).

I never really bothered with any Battle Facilities in the games until X and Y. In Crystal I tried the Battle Tower once and failed and in Sapphire I tried to get to 50 consecutive battles, because of some rumors stating that ou could get to Johto and Kanto afterwards. At that point I didn't even know IVs and EVs existed, which is why I just keeped failing.

As for favorite generation in terms of design, I like the later gens 3-6 a little bit more than the first gens. Although, since I never played DPPt, I never really bothered with most of the gen 4 Pokemon until X and Y, which was when I was able to actually obtain and use them.

The Battle Tower in Crystal was really weird. o_O I remember fighting a Bug Catcher with an Alakazam, which was messed up. But in Ruby and Sapphire it was even worse, because you had to go in with Pokémon at Level 50 or 100 - if they were even one level above 50 they had to be used in Level 100. This was something I appreciated that DP's Battle Tower (and all future ones) fixed, in that they automatically made all of them Level 50 upon entering them. That's part of the reason I never really got into Emerald's Battle Frontier, possibly because I hate training in those games.

Emerald's Battle Frontier is the one I had liked most, to be honest.

In comparison to the one from Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum (also HeartGold and SoulSilver), Emerald's one was more big, giving us opportunity in explore. In former games, it was rather straightforward; one facility is directly next to another. Though, they did have places such as Fight Area, Survival Area, and so forth, which, I suppose, does make up for it, in a way?

Speaking of those places, I wish they had given us a little more events there. What they did have (Heatran event, for example) might have been enough for post-game, but it definitely would have been satisfying (at least in my eyes) had there been some more.

interesting, cos my least favorite would be Gen 5. Kinda feels like they were tring to redid the first gen, and did it wrong.
Instead of magnets they just stuck together a bunch of icecreams. Birds with haircuts? no thanks. Female looking machop/machoke/machamps with those things in their hands added. Not very happy with Dragons either.
The yellow one (idk the names yet, just learning) just screams yugioh too loud :/ , the same with the Hydreigon. (plus arms as heads) Not bad, but I expect much more for a type that is rare in every gen.

On the other hand, Generation 3 is absolutely stunning and my favorite overall. Unique designs. Colorful but not an eyesore. First Generation where I love EVERY SINGLE LEGENDARY. And Region is flawless.

As for the battle facilities, I'd never get into them tbh. I knew no one to compare my records, and just plain battling was kind of time wasting for me. I would love to play in the wifi zone but ofc that is closed.

I'll probably get back to Battle frontier and all the others at some point. though.

I didn't get to defeat much battle facilities, personally, unfortunately. Only one I do remember beating is Battle Pike (one with Seviper-like design) from Pokémon Emerald. Although the brain herself was sort of tough, reaching her wasn't too difficult; all we had to do is go through correct rooms one-by-one, and once it's time, we'll reach her.

My favorite facility, even though I haven't beaten it, would likely have to be Battle Factory. It's very fun to be renting Pokémon and whatnot, as they test our skills on how good we are at battling with whatever that we are given. Most of the time, we don't wind up getting the we hope for, which sucks. Good thing is, though, it does add to its difficulty!

I don't remember, was Factory able to make it into other Pokémon games aside from Emerald?

Yeah, it was in Gen IV's Battle Frontier as well. And I'd have to say the Battle Factory is my favorite facility as well. My teams never seemed to do well in the Battle Frontier, so I like having the opportunity to use rental Pokemon. In the Battle Factory, I would actually have a chance at beating the Frontier Brain (even though I never did).

I liked the battle facility in Pokemon Platinum. I dont remember the name and Im too lazy to google it but it's the one with castle and whatnot. it is also not that hard. I will probably get back to it soon.
I have to go shiny chain and visit Distortion world.
Also make some money for mah villa and stuff.

I've gotten up to battling the Frontier Brain in Castle once, but wasn't able to get her defeated; she might not have been to difficult to reach, but she, herself, is quite tough. I've had a strategized (not precisely a word, but you know) Togekiss with me alongside, with Serene Grace ability, competitive EV spread, and the moves Air Slash, Roost, Thunder Wave, and Ominous Wind; it didn't seemed to have helped much, unfortunately. Though, I shouldn't have given up. I'm sure I could have had her defeated if I'd tried a little more hard.

did you mean Darach, the Valet - the guy with a F.E.A.R Staraptor? or perhaps Kate, the 1v1 lady?

Ok I checked which ones I playe. Battle casle and Arcade.
I remember both being rather easy to beat. i might have been lucky though.

Oh, it must have been former--Darach. Since they're both in the same sprite, it becomes kind of confusing so to who I'm actually battling and whatnot, haha.

I do remember getting all the Silver symbols in Platinum, but sadly none of the Gold symbols, as I never got far enough to even see any of their rematch teams.

But I have all four trophies for the Battle Maison in X, and am sure i'll get to them again in Omega Ruby eventually. And someday i'll get the Double Battle trophy for the Battle Subway in White 2, as well... I never did in White before I wiped the save on that but I did win in singles in both games.

I've wanted to get a hold of gold symbols in the past, but was never able. Getting silver ones are tough on its own, at least to me, so anything higher than that are sort of a no shot, unfortunately.

Also, I've finished battling Wallace in my second run of Omega Ruby few days ago, and he seemed to have been pretty tough. I already knew about his team and whatnot as I'd battled against the guy once previously, but his Pokémon in general were rather difficult to get around; regardless of how tough I've trained my team, he always seemed to have found a way to have me defeated.

Thankfully, I've managed to get this guy beaten eventually. He's got to be one of the most challenging Gym Leaders I have faced in a while, that's for sure!

He was really easy for me. Mega Scepile absolutely destroys him. It's actually kind of unfair :P

Have you guys ever took a pause from Pokemon games? In a year and a half, if not 2, I've been constantly playing Pokemon (Yellow- Crystal -Firered - Emerald - Platinum - Soulsilver) including PMD Darkness and Pranger Shadows of Almia.

I now have White prepared for when I am done with Soulsilver, and just recently got PMD Sky and Pranger Guardian signs.

Do you guys have any suggestions on what I could do?

I defintely want to make a short break from the main series. Maybe like, one week entire break. Then new Ranger, and then White, or?
Idk what to do, I want some advice lol.

Wanted to share a bit of an odd Pokémon dream I had last night. (Posting this in General and Gaming DCCs)

I was playing a game that looked like it was between Gen I and Gen II. I'm about to cross some lava and apparently I needed to use Fly to successfully cross. None of my Pokémon can learn Fly except Nidoking (what the heck), so I go to teach it and instead of asking me what move to delete, it just bumps the first move away and teaches it Fly (think the way they learn moves in the day care). Very odd how that worked. Clearly my subconscious doesn't know how Pokémon works.

Ooooor, it's showing you how you want it to work?

Because lets face it, flying Nidoking? Who wouldn't want that?

I remember playing some ROM hack before which would allow me to teach almost any TM and HM to any Pokémon we choose; if I remember correctly, I wound up teaching Typhlosion the move Surf. It was weird, but also rather helpful, as it lent a hand on it defeating ground-types, which fire is super-effective against.

As for Pokémon game-related dreams, I've definitely had one before, that's for sure. In it, I was at a picnic with few of by buddies. There, I was playing Emerald version on my phone (via an emulator, most likely).

It's kind of weird as to how we dream of video games of all things, haha. I understand that anything is possible when it comes to this, but still.
