Why the stagnant DCC? What's going on in everyone's games?

I have beaten all the Johto gyms so now I have 16 badges. my journey is coming to an end.
LOL NO, my journey is never ending, I am, however about to battle Red. I just discovered how awesome it is to rebattle gym leaders in the fighting dojo.

Currently I am training Arcanine, I bet Erikie is having so much fun playing with my Arcanine.
After that I'll be training Gyarados against Blaine and others.
I'm planning to get rid of Venosaur, and possibly Pikachu and Snorlax with Arcanine, and Gyarados should be able to get rid of Charizard, plus Lapras and Blastoise since I taught him Thunder. Haunter and others should be supporters. Probably while I revive the main players.

It's been almost 2 years that I have consistently been playing Pokemon games, it has been a good marathon ride till now :D

That powerfull Thunder comming from a base 60 Special Attack stat {XD}
Fun Fact: a fully invested Special Attacking Gyarados using Hyper Beam doesn't do nearly as much damage as fully physical invested Furret using Return

I've been playing OR for like 20 full hours and I only have 5 badges so far. So much for the new games being too short. Then again I haven't been using the EXP Share and I caught almost every Pokemon I came across in this game.

^ I beat Omega Ruby (at least to Steven) in just over 25 hours and I didn't use the Exp. Share at all, and there were specific backtracking areas I did in the game.

Anyway, the only significant Pokémon playing i've been in on recently has been on Black 2 for my Chandelure challenge, and I did complete my Hoenn Dex in Omega Ruby last Saturday. I will go for the National Dex eventually, but right now i'm not as motivated for that.

Don't mock my Gyarados! lol
Well you can see my team in my signature, if you have any suggestions feel free to suggest :P

Cool guys. Kinda makes me want to play all the new games but I gotta follow The Order. {XD} discovered new smiley woot!

I've gotten around to finishing off my second run of Omega Ruby a couple of weeks back!

To be honest, I loved going through it both times; I loved original Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald, and have been wanting to see remakes for them for a decently long time. Being able to finally happen was a dream come true. I'm not sure if I'll be heading towards a third play-through, but it's likely that I will; regardless of how many times I do play, I'm not sure if it'll ever grow tiring in my eyes. Hoenn is great.

If I do go for another run, I'll start on it after I get myself a new router, so that I would be able to connect online and whatnot. My current one doesn't seem to be cooperating with any of my Nintendo devices, unfortunately. I wish this weren't the case!

Just wanted to agree on this. Hoenn is so awesome, I honestly cant wait till I get my hands on a 3DS and Alpha Sapphire ^^

I honestly like that team quite a bit. I feel like they're not super powerful Pokémon, but they're very balanced.

I'm sure you'll enjoy it, since Hoenn really became eye candy with the 3D graphics. The camera angles in certain areas are more dynamic than they were in X/Y, especially at Mt. Pyre and Mossdeep City as far as I've seen.

Really? Thanks :D
lol, well, as for the types, they arent very balanced. There are few types that are really hard to beat because my team doesnt cover it, starting with water type.
Other then that they do really well. I was able to beat the entire game excluding Red with all of them being 52 or less. Umbreon is such an awesome tank, Dragonair with Draco meteor and Dragon rush deals with most of enemies. Arcanine and Gyarados help, Haunter is the speedy one, and Pidgeot deals with Fighting Pokemon.

They are definitely not competitive, especially since I prefer Dragonair and Haunter over their evolutions, but they are a good team, good enough to beat the game {XD}

I still havent played X/Y so pretty much anything I see in 3D is an eye candy lol, cant wait ^^

While Umbreon and Pidgeots aren't very strong, Gyarados and Dragonite are pretty strong in HGSS with the physical/special split. But in the original GSC, Gyarados was terrible as it had no good physical moves (at least in RBY it had decent Special Attack, but that was tossed out the window in GSC).

Did you, by any chance spam X and heal items? At least that's the way speedrunners beat Red, since they mostly end up with only Typhlosion being strong enough to beat him (and with strong enough, I mean around level 65, the other ones being around lvl 20).

And yeah, the Special split in gen 2 nerfed quite some Pokemon for the worse, like Gyarados, Ninetales and Flareon.

I havent used X item (if you mean items like X defend/attack or whatever they are called) once in my gaming carrier. (maybe once, just to realize I dont need it lol)

I do use a lot of revives. I let my tank deal with the enemy hwile I recharge my entire team, or at least a part of it. Still, at all of them being 52 or less, its still a good deal if you ask me :P

X items are more than that - they come in quite handy, because not only can you use them before the opponent attacks (as to if you were slower and would have to take a hit before using, say, Calm Mind), but they don't take up a moveslot. So in reality they're borderline game breakers, yet nobody thinks they're any useful.

But I don't use them in challenges nowadays, except in HGSS (particularly with Red), mostly because I don't use any items in most challenges anyway.

I'm too lazy to use any item cos I just think "I would have hit twice by the time I use that item and hit after it". Basically I start the battle with the intention to just wreck the enemy and get done with it. Maybe when I get into competitive battling I'll use other items more often but for now, I'm fine with not using them.

Myself--I do use items, both in-game and competitively.

When it comes to games, I don't find myself bothering with held items in particular, unless it's something that could give me an advantage of sorts in the long run by earning myself extra battle rewards (Experience Share and Amulet Coin would be two, great examples of this), but I do tend to utilize some decent amount of recovery things, such as Revives, Full Restores, and so forth. Otherwise, it'd likely have been sort of tough to get through and whatnot.

In terms of competitive battling, we're not permitted to use healing items at all, but we could use as much held ones as we like. Two of my most favorites of them all are Life Orb and Leftovers, as they respectively give attack boost to your Pokémon and recover portion of their health every turn. They're quite helpful!

There are some moves and items that, way back in the days of Generation III, I thought nobody could like yet everyone would use them, like the Choice Band (because it locks the user into the same attack) and Focus Punch (a 150 power attack that fails if the user is hit before it attacks). But if the latter didn't have the failing side effect, it'd probably be the best move in the game. Almost every move with 120+ power does have a drawback of some sort.

Well the drawbacks are there likely because the moves would be a tad too overpowered otherwise, like how some certain Pokemon with good stats have to have crippling abilities to avoid being too OP, such as Archeops, Slaking and Regigigas.

Well, that is true. Just imagine having those two as early as they're likely to evolve; Slaking does also have tons of HP which doesn't help. But Generation V introduced a lot of powerhouses like Darmanitan, Excadrill, Haxorus, etcetera, whose only real drawbacks were weak defenses (but Excadrill had two abilities that were only useful in sandstorm).

And as for powerful attacks, I think the strongest without a side effect that isn't a signature move is Earthquake, and that one's only downsides are that it can't hit Flying-types or Levitate users, and that it hits your partners in Doubles and Triples.

Isn't Boomburst the strongest non signature move without side effects? Considering even in X and Y, when it was introduced, there were already multiple Pokemon that got it besides Noivern and Exploud.

Sure it can be neutralized with Soundproof, but nobody uses that ability anyway.
