Norman was always my most hated Hoenn Gym Leader, solely because of those darn Slakings and the strategy he likes to use with them, whether it'd be Facade from the old days or the just-as-scary Retaliate in OR/AS, which we all know was made infamous by Lenora.

Facing him in Nuzlockes and its variants is always a nightmare because I hear bad stories of people losing something to that darn overpowered Slaking.

Her Watchog also loves making you go to sleep so you could tell nobody enjoying battling her. At least the game is kind enough to give you some Fighting-types before even taking on that Gym.

I really miss it when gyms had their own individual music. It was so cool!

That was one of the most unique things about B2/W2 that I loved. It's sad that we reverted to the standard theme being used for all the Gyms again, whereas here it was only used for Cheren because well... he's Normal-type.

I kinda loved the epic electronic-sounding Gym battle theme in X/Y. It often reminded me of all that dubstep music I was often hearing around me.

The Elite Four music was super cool too. I loved the atmosphere of the building in X/Y. Looking up at the starry sky at night was awesome too. 8)

I loved those moments where the camera angle looked up at the sky a lot, such as outside the Pokemon League and the Frost Cavern. It was also awesome they had photo spots as well, but all and all I loved how well graphics were showcased in the 6th Gen games because they want you to look at all that scenery in its 3D glory.

Yeah, the X/Y gym battle theme kind of surprised me since it's...not very grand compared to some of the other themes, but it's still got a good tension to it that gets you pumped up. I feel like putting it on repeat and listening to it again while I do other things here, I like it that much. :P

My favorite gym...hmm.

I've always enjoyed Morty's gym in HG/SS. It's spooky and it his his typing perfectly. I must say, my favorite Gym Leader is still Koga though.

Wally and Zinnia's battle themes are two that i've heard be called "epic, but very un-Pokémon-like". I could even imagine Zinnia's being used in a Sonic game. Anybody who's heard music from Sonic '06, doesn't it remind you of the tracks from Crisis City and even the final battle theme?

I still don't get why older themes get more praise when I think more recent generations had their fair share of epic music as well *cough* 5th Gen *cough*

You can really not get over nostalgia, as they say...

^ Basically that. All generations had themes I really liked, so it's hard for me to claim that there was one that had the best over all the rest.

The main reason to be concerned is nostalgia, so expect an older generation's music to get preferred over the newer ones by most of the veteran fans.

I like HGSS and GSC music. 3rd has the epic and redone Victory Road in Smash Bros. 4th, I hardly played, and 5th I liked the big city I cannot spell's song.

HGSS's version of the Lavender Town theme is definitely a lot more soothing and relaxing than the original from RBY. It kind of makes sense though- the town has changed between RBYFRLG and GSCHGSS, and it doesn't have the creepy vibe that it used to when the Pokemon Tower was still there.

Here are both the original and HGSS versions of the theme for comparison:

Spoiler:

Thank god I never played the Kanto games. Lavender Town would have scared the hell out of me in those days, thank god the town changed a lot.

I kind of prefer the original one because it's creepy as hell, and that's what it is supposed to be. The HG/SS version sounds....happy for some reason?
