    Since Super Mystery Dungeon is coming, I think I should make a PMD thread xD

    so, in all of the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games, you're required to pick a partner. You two will eventually become best friends and save the world!

    The question is: out of all PMD Partners, which one was your favorite? Which one you felt closer to?

    Mine is definitely the Explorers of Sky one. Nick the Mudkip was like my little brother: he really did care about you and I don't think he ever got mad at you, really. Not only that but he had a super important role in the story, he wasn't just there because he was your best friend and wanted to help you out. Not gonna spoil or anything tho ;)

    Well Super Mystery Dungeon is coming, so how do you think the partner should be?
     
    i adored my partners in both games! to be honest even more so in the Rescue Team games, as in that game your partner practically sacrifices so much to go with you on your journey, and i just spent my entire time being glad he was with me, haha. Charmander, you were the best <3

    i'm not sure what you mean by 'how should the partner be' - i suppose they should be the same as in the previous games, beginning explorers like you, and just a loyal friend throughout the game c: if you're talking specifics... i think i'll pick Froakie this time around, hehe.

    I actually don't remember what partner I used in Blue Rescue team, but I know I had Tepig as a partner in GTI. It was alright. Yeah, I never played the games more than once and with only two games played so far, which is likely not going to change, I can't really say much about them. {XD}
     
    Usually I like using a Pokémon of that generation, that is of course applied to my partner.
    Red/Blue: Mudkip and Torchic
    Darkness/Time: Piplup/Chimchar, Chimchar/Turtwig
    Sky: Totodile/Cyndaquil

    It's most likely Froakie/Fennekin or Chespin/Froakie on the upcoming titles.
     
    I always choose to have a Riolu or Pikachu in Sky. In Explorers of Darkness I had a Torchic and Pikachu.
     
    Red Rescue Team is the only game I have over played in the PMD series. I seldom started with a Grass type (both as the character and partner) since you would be weak to a lot of the common types that are present in the story, with a few being Fire in Mt. Blaze and Ice in Mt. Freeze. A combination I almost always use is a pairing of a Water type and a Fire type (more notably one that learns Smokescreen) since you can cover most types within your movepool that way. That being said, I usually go with Mudkip/Squirtle and have Cyndaquil/Charmander as a partner, or vice versa.
     
    With my current save file in PMD: Red Rescue Team, I started with Squirtle and my partner was Torchic. They were both good Pokémon all-around, even if they didn't have any real moves that could hit all foes in a room, like with Charizard getting Heat Wave. And for Explorers of Sky, i'm a Riolu and my partner was Charmander. It was fun, even if both of them were in the same IQ group.
     
    The partner I feel closest to out of all of the games released right now (Since Super Mystery Dungeon may change that) is Eevee from Explorers of Sky considering the fact that she is a girl and her personality is great to me I actually have a crush on my Partner if that is any indication of how much I like my partner from Sky :3

    As for what Partner I'm looking for in Super Mystery Dungeon I'm looking for a partner with the same depth as the Explorers partner heck maybe have more depth because it's your partner the one that's going to be with you the whole game so it may as well be likeable :3
     
    Snivy in Gates To Infinity is my favorite, because he's such a nice guy and he cares about the main character a lot. He's like a brother, it's really cute!
