Bit of a n00bish question to ask, but how manga Pokemon manga volumes are there? I have no idea how many exist, and can you read it online?

I Posted this in the Journey thread, but I wanted to post it here too.

Okay...so I am playing Diamond on my DS and I am just past the part where you meet the Pokemon of the game (Dialga or Palkia). And I went to the Mart and bought 50 Ultra Balls and 40 Dusk balls (I'm doing it at night). So I go into the battle and I do maybe 4 attacks...meanwhile he takes out 4 of my Pokemon! So I brought in my Graveler. Dialga used Roar of Time, didn't make Graveler faint (Thank god!) and I had Graveler use Brick Break (TM'd that sh!t.) Next turn: Dialga had to recharge so I had a free turn. I had Graveler use Brick Break again and it got Dialga down into the red. So, like every other time I caught a Pokemon, I threw an Ultra Ball. Now, I didn't expect anything out of it. Maybe one or two wiggles and it pops out...but NO!! I caught DIALGA ON ONE ****ING ULTRABALL!! I could not believe it! I would've screamed as loud as possible if it weren't for my 'rents sleeping. I am still in shock right now...I can't believe it!

OMG!!

*Runs off screaming*

So, I am going to ask, how long did it take YOU to catch the Big Pokemon of the game? (Mew2, Kyougre, Palkia, etc.)

i am not illiterate i dont know english well

Thus, you are illiterate.

so stop being raciest to me i just move to america from portugal.

How was I being racist? I didn't even know you were Portugese.

Also, Saka Yuura, I normally spend a lot of time catching the Legendary Pokemon, but the longest I spent in one battle against one was against Regice on my Ruby version. Two hours and thirty minutes (or something like that) of nonstop gameplay, near-catches and watching my Pokemon get destroyed. I caught the Regi in the end though.

My longest would have to catching Mesprit and Cresselia. Resetting each time for the good nature and then chasing after it. Even with the use of two routes to hunt it down, it took a long time to get the one I wanted.

Otherwise it would be the current battle I'm doing. Soft-resetting for a Timid/Naive nature Darkrai (obtained through the E4 surf glitch of course, therefore semi-legit. ^_^). It's so hard to get down to the red bar of health without killing it and its Bad Dreams and Nightmare completely destroy my Pokemon even with Leftovers.

The 'longest' it took to catch a Pokémon for myself was approximately 45 minutes or so, and that was Mewtwo from Pokémon FireRed Version.[SIZE=-1]

hey im back.

I preferred it when you wandered the realms of inactivity.

Anyways, time for a new topic; why do you think that Pokémon is one of the bestselling games of all time?

Becasue it is so old so are older(in age) members like me i "am 14 wached it on cartoon network when i was like 5 so i always liked it and now i can wach every episode when ever i want so they kept most of there older fans and got new younger fans with Pokemon Advanced and things like that and so they liked it and bought the pokemon games.

Well thats what happen to me and some of my family.

Doesn't Pokemon lose to mario or something?

I think pokemon is one of the best sellers because it combines elements of cute creatures/strategy/adventure all into one game. It personalizes the game so that people feel as if they're actually on an adventure and they can form bonds with their pokemon.

Plus it's able to euphemise enslaving animals and forcing them to fight for glory and selfish gains!

Because they continue and make new Pokemon and they are keeping it original. As long as they do that, it will go on forever.

XDD;

For the topic: For the same reason all the others are. It's entertaining, it has new ideas for every generation, and it's a game for all ages. The show however...

I just have to laugh at this one xD

I agree with everyone else, it's entertaining, easily marketable. I don't know about originality though.. I think it lacks originality of all things.

I think Pokemon is pretty original. When it came out, there was nothing like it.

It was rehashed into oblivion, though...
Oh I was referring to Saka's post..

................

um.. How are they keeping it original? The new pokemon don't look that good and the storyline is still basically the same.

Meaning...they come up with their own ideas and don't pawn off others.

Exactly. They have been able to create their own type of genre of role-play gaming. Their ability to apply cute/amazing creatures, high action battles, and a decent script makes the perfect combination. They could only get better at what they're doing.

Anyone else thinks that Arceus was created to early?? Think about it, I mean, until now he doesn't even have an official artwork, he have no events yet, he's not in PMD2. Could it be that their showing him in the next gen (gen 5)??

It's just my thoughts though and I love to be proven wrong.

I don't know, Its always seemed strange to me because of the changing plates so Its constantly got to have a diffrent plate it just annoys me, but I think it could be used in the next generation because there are a lot of legendaries and it just fades into the background because it doesnt have its own game or event.

There is something I really can't wait for, and that's Pokémon Platinum. ;)
Also I'd really would like to see Generation VII as well, I would think that Generation VII of Pokémon would be really good to see in 3D as well. ;)
